An Anaheim police K-9 that was shot in the line of duty more than two years ago has died.
Bruno, who was shot by a probationer during a SWAT standoff in March 2014, died just before 6 a.m. Wednesday with his handler by his side, according to a post on the Friends of the Anaheim Police K9 Association's Facebook page.
"It's with heavy hearts we announce the passing of K9 Bruno at approximately 0555 hours this morning," the post said.

Black sable colored German shepherd.
Preferred breed of the Anaheim PD K-9 unit.
A beautiful German Shepherd dog. Click the link for pictures.
I’m thinking aloud here....A few years of youth, training, then six years with the police force, then two years retired makes him about ten to eleven years old, which would be about right for a large dogs lifespan, especially having had the trauma of his encounter with the live end of a gun.
R.I.P. Bruno. Ya done good.
There’s a slideshow of Bruno pictures available at the OC Register website:

I was maybe a half mile away when Bruno was shot. I’ve never heard so many sirens. If you want every cop within miles to be hell bent on getting you then shoot one of their dogs and you’ll get your wish.
FWIW, Mhz has recently started running an Austrian 1990s cop show, Inspector Rex, featured a K-9 that lost its handler to a bullet. A detective saves the dog from being put down for depressive starvation.
Yes, it's subtitled.
Bruno was 9 years old.
The officers returned fire and fatally shot Robert Andrew
You bet. And unlike previous police shootings around here there haven’t been any organized demonstrations for Robert Andrew Moreno. I don’t remember even seeing our local commie rag the OC Weekly try to exploit the gangbanger’s death, unusual considering that the editor is a drunken la raza pendejo.
Thank you. I had looked for the information in the article, but didn’t see it, and that’s what got me thinking aloud.
