Golly :) reminds me of 16 yrs ago when I made a similar choice to let God move me 2500 miles from home, before I even knew it was God I was listening to!

Prayers for wisdom and discernment for letting God steer you now and always. God’s best to you.

Lost and Found (2009/10)
Driving through life without a map
taking turns on a whim,
Highways get you there faster
back roads slowly meander
but are they leading you toward Him?

I want to get lost, I want to get lost,
I want to get lost in You, Jesus

Letting Jesus drive
sounds cool but isn’t easy
sometimes He seems reckless
and it makes me queasy.
Then I know I’ve not fully let go
still trying to steer the wheel

Other times He drives so slow
I wonder will we ever get there
that;s when I realize
it’s not about my schedule but His
what a relief to not be in control.

He’s the maker of the map
reads it better than me
He’s got it under control
why am I trying to take His place
when the seat was made for Him?

When we reach the scenic views
it makes more sense
it’s best to let Him drive
He knows each road like He knows His hand
which was pierced for you and I.

I want to get lost, I want to get lost
and found in You, Jesus!

Follow your interests. Drive until you find someplace that feels right and makes sense for your circumstance.

Last time I drove across the country, I liked Nashville, Tennessee, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. I didn't move to either one, but I extended my stay in both.

I had a similar journey although I wasn’t nearly as well-off as you might be. It had quite a few weird turns.

If you’re not, I suggest carrying in a locked place (you can get a cheap safe for $34 at Harbor Freight tools). I separated the weapon from the ammo as per Federal guidelines as recommended by my FFL. One place i used to pass through a guy who I worked for told me about a crime happening there one night. Very desolate part of Kansas.

Stay out of urban areas, especially at night. Don’t flash cash in areas, especially where you are a stranger. I might recommend a few areas but these days, be sure you stay out of cities. And keep at least 3-7 days of food and water for you and your dog in that car. Non-perishable stuff, or less-perishable, that is.

Oldtown.

Study your surroundings and maybe someone will give you a glass candle.

Sock that money away!! I wisely saved and doubled my inheritance - but also blew through a lot of it! I won’t dare touch it, but often live lean! Anyway, if your heart chooses Denver, then message me and I will help you with all the great, secret places that newbies usually don’t know about.

Fell in love with Pagoda Springs, CO, seeing horses regularly being ridden thru town, don’t know about job opportunities.

No. Coeur d’Alene has very little to offer as far as manufacturing or other good income potential. Spokane is the same. Many of the larger companies have left. Trust me. I live here.

I remember driving there on the way to Durango, CO and that was a nice charming scenic town out of the way and probably far removed from liberal lalaland.

Arkansas, northeast Texas or Tennessee, I’d think. Maybe Shreveport LA

Corpus Christi or Victoria Texas.
Conservative, jobs available.
Avoid the big cities such as Houston and Dallas.

(See my profile under ‘account’ for mush information on Texas)

Best of luck to you.

‘mush’ should read ‘MUCH’.

I think that some people call it Pagosa Springs. ;)

I live on Lake Corpus Christi. Portland is a suburb of Corpus, and is booming with a couple of new plants. Corpus is mostly Hispanic, and the suburbs are mostly white. No problems there, though. Victoria and the surrounding area are also nice.

Somewhere out of the reach of Obama or the ever growing socialist state.

I did the same, leaving an inherited Houston house in 1999 for life near LA. Just moved back to Texas, and Dallas suits me just fine. Affordable with lots of things to offer, and reportedly a fine area for jobs. Even the small Texas towns look interesting if a big city isn’t your choice.
