Isn’t he the guy who was unable to pass the bar exam?

And spun his plane into the sea?>>>> literally let his wife nag him to death. she pushed him to fly to martha instead of drive. He was not fully checked out on instruments and in a white out beleived his eyes over the instruments. There are old pilots and there are bold pilots. There are no old, bold pilots.

Just prior to his death, Kennedy was seen as a frontrunner for the New York Senate seat vacated by Daniel Patrick Moynihan

And who wound up winning that seat after the unfortunate "accident"? The Beast, of course ...

Not alone. He took his wife and her lovely sister down with him.

Look to the future there kit cat. Chelsea is waiting in the wings. Also, not so bright. Well bright enough to haul in a huge salary despite her lack of any visible skills.

Gotta hand it to the ‘Rats.

They didn’t care that she was from Illinois and just a carpet bagger in New York

They just wanted the Clinton Crime Family.

Excellent analysis. Also part of the problem was the two women weren’t ready on time. Kennedy had planned to fly earlier when visibility was good. His wife and her sister kept delaying the departure with preparations. He had never planned to be in the air at such a treacherous time in the evening...it just worked out that way.

He would have been the 2008 candidate, and yes he would have won in a walk.

At least he was somewhat level-headed compared to other Democrats. Can’t see him being like Obama has.

Thank God he’s not. His father, grandfather, and uncles have done enough damage for several generations of enslaved subjects of their machinations.

Like any male Kennedy, Junior had a problem with conveyances. His caught up with him early and, characteristically, cost two females their lives as well.

Quite honestly, JFK caught the Zeitgeist of the time. Nixon was a political machine and JFK was the future. He deserves the good things and fond memories people have about him.

However, there hasn’t been another Kennedy worth their own salt.

Jr. was an amiable dunce. When I think of him I think of George Bush the younger. Jr. would have been a formidable politician based on likability and history alone.

I think JFK Jr. would have ended up in the Senate eventually. And most likely a VP by now. He would have been 56 this year, and the leading Democratic candidate for president.

My recollection of the events at the time is as follows....John Kennedy Jr. was being stoked and pressured to run for an open NY State Senate seat following the retirement of Sen. Moynihan. JFK, Jr. consistently turned them all down, until such time that Ted Kennedy got to him and he promised to consider it. At a Manhattan cocktail party he casually mentioned he might run for the seat. It went viral. Her Highness Hillary Clinton had made it clear she wanted that seat and Bill arranged and rigged her for it. Their aircraft was housed at Teteboro Airport (NJ). After the mishap and his death, there was a story that the plane had been sabotaged. That of course went nowhere. Hillary won the seat. What a surpise. IMO had he run, nobody alive would have beaten him. Nobody.

I disagree. He did not have the fire in his belly and he was not a politician. He and his sister did not inherit their dad’s gift of oratory ability.

If he had been elected to anything, it would have been for the sentiment and not his ability.

It is so heartbreaking to remember the tragedy that ended his life. I have always believed that it was good that Jackie predeceased him because she would not have been able to go on after this loss.

I do not think that it would have been possible. He was pretty much an airhead like his mother.

The main criteria though is that he did not survive, but I had indeed forgotten he did have passengers. Probably because it was not that big a deal for me at the time.

After catching up I see he was extremely unqualified and arrogant. He flew on a night in conditions that required instrument navigation training that he had not qualified for and rejected the offer by his flight instructor to accompany him on his flight.

Even experienced pilots lose situational awareness. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist.
