A Few Observations on Clinton-Trump Persuasion

The Paul Ryan Exchange

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan said yesterday, “I’m just not ready to back Donald Trump.” That was an example of good negotiating. “Not ready” means he hopes to be able to back Trump someday, but only if Trump changes in some unspecified ways that Ryan wants. It gives Ryan leverage. It was a strong move.

But Trump responded with "I am not ready to support Speaker Ryan’s agenda.”

Checkmate, in one move. On this chessboard, a future President beats a Speaker of the House. And Trump makes you think past the sale again, to his presidency.

Clinton’s Campaign Logo

Clinton’s logo is a big “H” with an arrow pointing forward. Someone on Twitter mentioned that it looks like a sign telling you where the hospital is. Once you see it, you can’t see it any other way.

There are a number of other interesting observations at the link.

Many of you know Scott Adams as the cartoonist that draws and publishes "Dilbert". But, you might not know he's a certified hypnotherapist.

Scott has written a series of blog posts about Trump's skill as a "persuader", and providing examples of how Trump is using that skill in this campaign. Scott is also writing about examples of how Hillary is tone-deaf, when it comes to "persuasion". Some of Hillary's efforts actually help Trump.

Click the link through to this blog post, and then you can use the "older post" link at the bottom to look back through his other postings. I think you will find it interesting.

Scott isn't taking a position on whether Trump or Hillary will be a better President, or even whether either of them will be a good President. These blog posts are about their respective skill to persuade someone to vote for them.

However, Scott believes that Trump will win in a landslide, if both candidates continue their current strategies.

Adams offered to help Hillary win for $1.8 billion (to be paid only if he succeeds), which he says is a bargain if, as Trump's foes claim, a Trump presidency will destroy the world.

Sounds like a heck of a deal! Maybe George Soros will pay his fee. :-)

Looks like Adams doesn't think Trump will destroy the world. If he did he'd help Hillary for free.

Read Adams carefully and you can see he's a lot less politically correct than he lets on.
