TRUMP DOUBLE DOWNS: “...I am standing by my call for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the US”

Full title too long// TRUMP DOUBLE DOWNS: “I don’t care if it hurts me in the general election, I am standing by my call for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the US”

*********************************************************

“I don’t care if it hurts me,” the presumptive GOP (Trump) presidential nominee said on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe.’ “I’m doing the right thing when I do this. And whether it’s Muslim or whether it’s something else, I mean, I have to do the right thing, and that’s the way I’ve been guided.”

And he can start with the Muslim woman who is defacing the American flag by wearing it on her head.

The Hill “And I’ve been guided by common sense, by what’s right,” he continued. “And you see what’s happening. We have to be careful. I mean, we’re allowing thousands of people to come into our country, thousands and thousands of people being placed all over the country that frankly nobody knows who they are. They don’t have documentation in many cases — in most cases. And we don’t know what we’re doing.”

Trump initially called for a blanket ban on all Muslims entering the country in December, following mass shootings carried out by terrorists in Paris and Southern California. He later softened his position, saying leaders of Muslim nations and U.S. citizens who are Muslim would be allowed to enter the country.

Trump’s call for the ban was widely criticized by members of both parties, but it also was popular with the public. His position in the GOP primary race strengthened in the weeks after his proposal.

Common sense is never "common"; sometimes it is just plain sensible.

I don’t this this is a controversial position.

Any firm position that is not anti-American is controversial.

Tedstones are tiny pebbles found in Canada through Texas. Trumpstones are boulders the size of a house, that are found in NY.

I say this often. I have absolute no problem with Muslims per se. My problem is I do not believe their religion is compatible with human rights base democracy. If someone mocks Muhammad or challenges their core beliefs (which is part of democracy), they don’t engage in debate. The engage in violence. Then there is the whole issue regarding sexism and women’s sexuality in general which obviously is not in line with western values. I am not basing this judgment on prejudice, I am basing this on what I see in Muslim countries.

A pause on Muslim immigration seems prudent. Eventually, Muslims will be let in, of course, but at a pace where their values aren’t allowed to overwhelm western values.....like is obviously happening to Europe.

By the way, I’m a wonderful person who loves people from all over the world....including Muslim’s by the way. But, my position is very reasonable on this and I hate when the press and the political left and the GOP call me racist for having this opinion. Go Trump!!!

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. Should be interesting to see how those two interact.

Also, Saudi Prince Turki, who just told us if we must not elect Trump under any circumstances.

As Mark Steyn points out, wherever I-slam is found there always seems to be an `Islam vs _____________’ (fill in the blank) contest.
And whenever some horrible thing happens, it’s not unusual to find individuals named `Mohammed’ involved.

Like `gun control,’ thought control: Trump’s common sense statement (”We’ve got enough problems with `immigrants’ now.”) will be attacked—not challenged—by the would-be thought controllers, including our very own Ryan & Co. “conservative, moderate Republicans”, painting and smearing Trump with the usual nasty pejoratives.
