With Ted Cruz out of the race and John Kasich set to announce he’s suspending his campaign later today, presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump is wasting no time in moving forward on building out his campaign team, amassing a team of advisers and beginning to review potential vice presidential running mates.

To help him with the latter, Trump told the New York Times that Ben Carson will serve on a selection committee to find his running mate.

Sourced in article: Young Conservatives

Portion from that article: "There’s little doubt in my mind that Donald Trump is a really happy man today, knowing he’s pretty much got the GOP nomination sowed up, but folks are now interested in hearing who he might be picking for vice president." "What he’s said about his pick may not go over well with some of his fans."

I hope it doesn’t mean press conferences for Ben Carson.

Quote from article source: "I think on the committee I’ll have Dr. Ben Carson and some other folks," Trump said. Carson, who ended his own presidential bid in March, is one of Trump’s most outspoken campaign surrogates, frequently appearing on news shows to defend the candidate...."

So long as it's not Li'l Marco "Amnesty Today, Amnesty Tomorrow, Amnesty Forever!" Rubio -- who couldn't even win his own state, for pity's sake -- I'm willing to listen. ;)

If they actually select Kasich... think of the damned pizza bill... but at least he would bring Ohio into the column for Trump.

No. Dr. Ben Carson bores me and he really doesn’t give very good press conferences and he has foot and mouth disease.

Wow, I've got to use that one. Thanks. I've got a couple co-workers that are literally rocks for brains.

That’s the only plus for Kasich. He is a pro-amnesty insider, and that doesn’t mesh with why Trump got votes.

Dr. Carson can pin any title onto his lapel, so long as it is not as V.P. I’d feel better hearing that Ivanka Trump, the daughter, or one of his two older boys were serving as advisor to Trump on this topic. Newt Gingrich should be on the short-short list.

Why not choose the writer of this article, Allen West, for VP.

Major role? Just being the straight man is major enough.

Trump will announce his VP pick and cabinet soon.

Don’t know who his VP will be but some of the others are easy:

Carson for Surgeon General.

Giuliani for head of DHS.

Cruz for the Supreme Court.

Christie for Sec State.

May be wrong about some of these, but that’s what I expect.

That may eliminate Ted Cruz. Carson will never forget what Ted did to him in Iowa and called him the worst kind of Washington insider.

Ted will be vetted for something else. Donald is always gracious for a reason. He may think Cruz is ineligible, but Cruz and him are pretty akin to one another on a lot of issues legislatively... It is all a question of degrees... and the Senate is in trouble.

If Trump can reign in Cruz after the rockem sockem robots bash fest... he will be looking for ways to leverage that win in the Ring that Matters... the Senate of the usa.

Foot-and-mouth disease or hoof-and-mouth disease (Aphthae epizooticae) is an infectious and sometimes fatal viral disease that affects cloven-hoofed animals, including domestic and wild bovids.

I agree.

I’d love to see Allen West as VP.
