The Cruz/Rush/National Review strategy - (vanity post)

Posted on 05/03/2016 9:35:40 AM PDT by Ge0ffrey

I think that I now understand that Cruz and Rush and even the National Review have all been on the same page with a strategy that is about to fail. Let Trump knock out all the other candidates and then Cruz can knock out Trump. It might have worked if Cruz had been more likable but he's Godawful. I've had reservations about Trump from the beginning, but if Phyllis Schlafly's on board, so am I. If Trump morphs into some kind of typical liberal after he becomes president, we'll fire him

For the longest time I couldn’t figure out why Rush spent so much time building up Trump. Day after day. Three hours a day. No analysis of Trump’s lack of conservative bona fides. I was baffled — and also stopped listening to Rush daily. And then the National Review fills a whole issue with anti-Trump screeds. I kept asking myself, why now? Why not six months ago when Trump could have been stopped? Now I understand. That means a person I’ve trusted — namely Rush — has been deceptive. Oh well. We’re all fallen, I guess. Put no faith in kings or princes, or even horses (or horse’s asses), for that matter. Meanwhile, the more I watch Trump, the more I like him.

They are all in now on this failed strategy. I hope they have the sense to do everything in their power to ensure Hitlery does not win or if she is replaced, her replacement does not win either. IOW, don’t go so far out on the limb you cannot get back. As bad as they think Trump may be, frankly I don’t share their negativism, he is far superior to anything the dems or independents will run.

We have said this before, this is the most important election in our history. Sans the hype, this one truly is. It is the equal to Charles Martel standing against the muzzie horde then and today verses the Muzzies, border invaders, the gimmiedats, and the panderers.

Sessions, who has agreed to VP, may be in the wings if something happens as he can scoop up most of the anti-illegal dems Trump has energized.

Trump had been leading the charge AGAINST STATUS QUO. The build wall, stop muslim immigration, renegotiate all trade deals, cut tax plan, renegotiate NATO, renegotiate military /defence agreement with Japan/Korea and others

LOL, you Trump supporters are making my point. I’m trying to keep an open mind about Trump, yet I am attacked by his mindless lackeys. Doesn’t make him, nor you, likeable.

How do you really feel. Will you be supporting Ted’s run as an independent?

And what is the purpose? To have a brokered convention? Remember Rush doing this to the Democrats with the Hillary strategy during the first Obama election? Why? To divide the Democrat party. Why is Rush doing it now? To hurt the Republican party? Rush says he doesn’t take sides, but he deceives. He has a horse in this race. He’s had one all along.

I have tried to be open minded about him, but he, like his wacko, foul-mouthed supporters, is a jackass.

Oh, the irony. Calling out people for being foul-mouthed and then calling them jackasses.

Yes Rush does seem to have an agenda. It may well be that he just really believes Cruz is the best candidate. How Rush thinks Cruz would beat Hillary is beyond me.

IF he said that then he is simply trumpeting the current narrative about it. These were peaceful people simply holding Trump signs. Cruz was the one who engaged them!

According to Limbaugh, its okay for Cruz to steal Trump’s delegates that the voters wanted in a primary, but it’s not good for a Trump supporter to hold a sign and argue with Ted Cruz. Ok.

I have noticed that Rush talks much faster and animated when he’s backpdaling. And he’s been doing it much more frequently.

Well when you want to disparage us, of course in the minds of Cruz supporters this is not an attack but rather a statement of truth, why is it you expect us to sit silently by and not respond?

Show me what you perceived to be an attack, for I fail to see anything other than me claiming you hoisted yourself on your own petard by attacking Trump supporters.

It's kind of like the protestors with signs saying stop hate, while behaving hatefully.

I guess irony escapes you.

Should I genuflect, or is a simple curtsy sufficient?

I've noticed in my life that the people who genuinely deserve respect don't say "look at me and how wonderful I am."
