That’s roughly what my memory was ... Trump took the ‘outer’ boroughs. Staten Island is the last GOP holdout in NYC, still with its heavy Italian and Irish communities vs the rest of the city (save Manhattan) that has neighborhoods fluctuating continuously with the various waves of ethnics.
It makes sense that Kasich would carry Manhattan. Aren’t all Manhattan’s Republicans segregated into one or two precincts in the Upper East Side?
I’m pretty sure that I remember someone in the press saying that the Upper East Side was one of Trump’s worst areas in the state. It made up the bulk of the one and only congressional district in the whole state that Trump lost. He actually did noticeably better among the few Republicans in Spanish Harlem than he did with the rich whites in the southern part of the Upper East Side.
He did better in Midtown too, including the area around where Trump Tower is. Besides Staten Island, Trump also did well in his native Queens overall.

If Trump becomes the nominee, he would be the most unpopular nominee ever, unable to even come close to Mitt Romney’s insufficient support among women, minorities, and young people. In losing disastrously, Trump probably would create down-ballot carnage sufficient to end even Republican control of the House and Senate.
But like the three proverbial monkeys, Trumpkins are immune to reason and this is why the conman (Trump University) and snake oil salesman (Trump Shuttle; Trump Steaks, Trump Vodka) has no problem insulting his devoted followers by letting them know he could spray a volleys of bullets at them in the middle of Fifth Avenue and they’d roll over and vote for him. Jim Jones would be proud of this crowd.
This is why dyed in the blue conservatives like Rush L have called Cruz the right person to claim Reagan’s mantle as has Mark Levin.
