Internal Poll Numbers Show Cruz Collapsing In Indiana
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | April 28, 2016 | sundance

Posted on 04/29/2016 4:19:09 AM PDT by Trump20162020

A CNN article today points out the internal polling within Indiana is following this consistent pattern:

[…] Cruz allies and people close to the campaign describe a budding sense of gloom, with internal polls diving as Trump mounted even stronger than expected showings in his native northeast. In Indiana, which Cruz backers once believed they were favored to win after his strong defeat of Trump in Wisconsin, Cruz’s numbers have fallen precipitously: Once leading, Cruz now trails in the state by eight to 10 points, according to a person who has seen the numbers, with Trump over the 40% mark. Cruz’s campaign did not respond when asked about those figures.

I did not know that there was a winner of the republican primary.

I do know that there will be a nominee who will come out of the republican convention. And if that nominee is Trump, chances are highly probable that the United States will have its first lesbian president.

But my framing the accusation in the language of the Commandment is intended to make some of his supporters with a moral compass, reconsider. We are both addressing what is tantamount to a “lie.” I am simply trying to take the rationalizing “wiggle room,” out of the equation.

You are welcome to your delusion that Hillary can beat Trump... as you have stuck to your delusion that Cruz would be the nominee....

Its not based in reality, but you are welcome to it.

I welcome your rubbing it in my face on the night of Nov 8, 2016 if you are correct. However, if you are wrong, I will welcome your public acknowledgment that you were completely wrong.

I wonder.

What exactly was the terrible slight to Cruz wife in Trumps re-tweet of a not so faltering picture of Cruz’s wife?

That was what the Tweet was. A reminder that Trumps wife when she was 20 something was better looking than Cruz’s wife in her early 40s. Where is the insult in that, we all know that is true, heck almost every young 20 year old chick is better looking than the 44 year old version of the same woman.

I have asked Cruz supporters several times and all I have gotten the answer “if you don’t know I will not explain it” but that is a cop out. If you cannot explain objectively what is wrong with a certain thing...then you are simply trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.

By the bye, I did not think the post of Trumps wife in her birthday suit handcuffed to a suitcase on a bear rug on trumps plane was that bad either. The ad could have been taken two ways. While it might have helped Cruz in Utah, in the northeast states it might well have the opposite effect.

No kidding. I'm getting on in years and almost 50% of women in their 20s look hot to me. Look at actresses one drooled over in the 90s (Denise Richards) and they look absolutely terrible now.

Horse crap. Hillary will lose to Trump in a landslide for Trump election.

Cruz would be a massive loss. He can’t even get the people that are supposed to vote for him to vote for him.

Geesh, are you Cruzbots out of your minds?

Quit helping Hillary.

Speaking truth doesn’t help Hilary. I agree Cruz can’t win either. Trump has made so many little lies they are going to catch up with him.

What a cozy little club they have. He is most likely to be the one who twisted Mike Pence’s arm for his sheepish endorsement.

The notion that the GOP-e will “steal” the nomination from Trump is getting old. If Trump does not have 1,237 delegates going into the convention, he will probably not win the first vote.

There it is again. Talking past the last 6 months as if they never happened.

If Donald Trump fails to get to 1,237 delegates it will be for one reason, and one reason only: the GOPe will have been successful at blunting his march to the nomination just barely enough to have denied him that.

Well, they did happen, and the GOP electorate is not suddenly going to forget that its own party elite, along with the Left and Media joined in on a relentless character assassination campaign against Donald Trump that was as slanted as humanly possible.

And the GOP voters are also going to remember that when the going got tough, Ted Cruz joined forces with the GOPe/NeverTrump crowd, and adopted their tactics 100%.

Whether it was playing the race card when he knew it to be a smear, or his total lack of leadership and loyalty to his party in the aftermath of the Chicago rally cancellation, Ted Cruz has shown his true colors, his naked opportunism, and his total lack of principle. Cruz's tactics are as Machiavellian as could be.

"Principled conservative" Ted Cruz is now beholden to the likes of Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, John McCain, Lindsay Graham, and their GOPe ilk for the survival of his campaign to this point. He even added Neil Bush to his finance team, and we're still supposed to believe that he's an anti-Establishment outsider?

Sorry, that's a phony if I've ever seen one, and the membership of this forum, who was almost 100% behind Ted Cruz 6 months ago, has defected to the Donald Trump camp in droves.

That didn't happen by accident, and it's not going to suddenly reverse itself at this late hour.

The die is cast. It's time to move forward and unify the party behind the man who has earned the nomination Donald Trump.

Donald Trump will be the GOP nominee whether he gets to 1,237 or not. I'm surprised you haven't realized that yet. You see, the GOPe/NeverTrump crowd has now created a dynamic that guarantees Donald Trump the nomination. The GOPe fools, and the fools who follow them, didn't really think their diabolical scheme through to its logical conclusion. They counted on Trump to be weak, but instead he has shown incredible strength in the face of unbelievable adversity.

Checkmate! The GOPe has lost, and Ted Cruz, in hitching his Machiavellian wagon to theirs and showing his true colors, has lost also.

Vote Trump

Let’s go through this:

“Yes, I do believe that Cruz could wipe the floor with Hillary if he were the nominee.”

You’re in a very small minority on this site, and most people here, including me, were Cruz supporters before moving to Trump. Cruz is totally boxed in as far as getting popular support for November, not a chance.

“He is ten times smarter than she is and can articulate to the public just what despicable and illegal actions Hillary has done.”

He ruled that out, by saying that he will run a campaign “on the issues”, as Bush Sr. tried to do, Dole tried to do, McCain tried to do, and Romney tried to do (but obviously Trump is doing what you think Cruz would do, but Cruz said he won’t).

“The notion that the GOP-e will “steal” the nomination from Trump is getting old.”

It’s perceptions that count. Obviously the GOPe is not about to hand Cruz the nomination, given how much they detest Cruz. If Trump and his voters, me included, who have voted straight Republican their entire lives (even in college, even when Perot ran) feel that the nomination was stolen, it doesn’t matter whether the GOPe goes into some obscure legal discussion of the rules...we walk, and we not only walk from voting Republican for president, we don’t vote Republican down-ticket either (you may want to give your elected buddies a heads up to get their resume’s ready).

“If Trump does not have 1,237 delegates going into the convention, he will probably not win the first vote.”

I won’t argue that, but if Trump is PERCEIVED to have 1237 delegates going into the convention, but then funny things happen (some get sick, others fly to Cleveland TX, etc.), see above for the guaranteed outcome...we all walk. Again, it is perceptions. You guys need to steal it from him in a way that he, or at his supporters approve of - but I doubt that’s possible.

“The rules are simple and there is nothing illegal or unscrupulous about them.”

Agree...but none of that matters because that pesky word: PERCEPTIONS is what you’re fighting. We don’t look at it through legal binoculars...because we don’t have to. I do hope you understand that winning the Republican nomination is totally meaningless when half of the Republican base will walk in November. We through with holding our noses.

“Trump needs to stop whining about having Colorado stolen from him when that was nothing of the sort. Cruz knew how the procedures worked and prevailed. Trump did not. End of story.”

Like it or not, his ‘whining’ proved to be one of the most BRILLIANT moves in political history and bodes very well for November. Along with Rush, I believe that Trump’s people knew all along that Colorado was rigged, but he sat on it, and then POUNCED at the perfect moment. He was on the ropes after Wisconsin and while he was expected to win New York, no one expected his margin of victory there or in the other states the next week. Again, it’s perceptions, and perceptions only - win the perception game and you’ve won. Given that the outcomes in the Northeast easily swamped Cruz’s ‘victory’ by ‘using the rules’, I’d say Trump was the ultimate winner, because he played to perceptions (that damn word again), rather than technicalities.

“The democrats are masters of knowing procedure and how to win strategically though they also employ voter fraud which is what pushes them over the finish line.”

Can’t argue that...at least we agree on something. But I will say if they try to steal the November election from Trump, unlike other Republicans, he will not go away quietly ‘for the unity of the country’. There will be hell to pay.
