The topic somehow became how Cruz seems to have some personality flaws, maybe innate ones.

I wonder if a few of his fanatic supporters, such as Levin, happen to have the same flaw?

I have OCD.... IMO there is some strange link between certain maladies and high IQ.

I’ve seen it too many times for it to just be coincidence.

People with OCD seem to make great assembly language programmers :-)

No need to apologize, I can see now that what I wrote might have come across poorly.

He is a handsome kid. What level of math is he doing?

“when he got booed at the town hall he said “the two cruz fans”.

not exactly a compliment :)”

Not an insult, either.

I think you’re right. My own pet theory is parts of the brain that govern certain social functions where overwritten with functions more useful for certain type of mental tasks. Kind of like how babies know how to swim from birth but the function goes away at around 2 years old and has to be learned later in life. I think that the swimming “subroutine” was overwritten by another function.

Look at what Cruz did after Chicago in using leftist thugs to attack Trump supporters right to free speech. It was the ultimate betrayal of people who were supporting him until that moment. And the worst part is that him and the Cruzlims only double down on their mistakes and refuse to apologize or acknowledge their wrong doing. They’ll simply wait for the next great opportunity to make fools of themselves ala Michelle Fields, 7/11, Brussels, etc.
He parrots drive by media taking points as do his supporters and they often find their ridiculous attacks blowing up in their faces as Trump gains more support. People know BS when they here it and it’s why 72% of Primary voters oppose Ted Cruz.. Say NO WAY to his Lying! It’s not just that he’s a LIAR but he’s turning out to be a really bad guy.

He’s in first grade and doing third grade math, but he needs a bit more of a challenge. I’m thinking about starting Saxon math this summer. Since he’s so kinesthetic, I think he’ll like the manipulatives. He’s reading at a sixth grade level, which is what sets him above his peers. Once one can read well, the world is completely opened up. He read the latest Imprimis during breakfast this morning, lol. He can handle human contact, but not criticism. It’s been a rough patch. We’re working on transitioning from reward based discipline to consequence based. It’s not going well and I don’t know of it’s because it’s too soon, or he’s just bucking the new system. He’s a bit rebellious.

Yep, heard on the radio that Trump Supporters have poisoned the well, the fear is they can’t shut their mouths and if Trump is the nom that 70% will just stay home.

You live here and don’t even sleep.. Where else would you do it?

I don’t believe you and I’m sure it matters very little to you anyway. I’m sorry I bothered.. Continue on with being FR’s little side show during the primaries. We’ll be serving up plenty of Crow soon enough so maybe you can find a way to make money off of that.

I think it could be a matter of brain energy. Less energy goes to social functions for some reason, leaving more available for math and logic.

I know what you mean. I used to be really involved in fighting on FR all the time back in 2007 and 2012 to a lesser extent. It used to be all about fighting the people who are paid to be here riling us all up, but now there are people I have known (if you can call being a fellow FR poster really knowing someone) for years, who appear (in my eyes) to have lost all of their intellectual honesty.

Not only do we not understand each other, people REFUSE to even TRY and understand each other. I’ve tried to extend a hand a number of times to people and it just gets slapped away, which sucks when it’s someone you otherwise respect.

Heck, there’s a couple who have been friendly with my wife and I whom I consider middle-of-the-road Republicans. Theyo have refused invitations to our home because we like Trump and ‘Trump is not a conservative’. These are people that I consider NOT conservative and would probably be considered raving liberals by many here.

A few years ago, I had to stop ‘fighting the good fight’ on the internet for the most part, because I just don’t have space for that kind of negativity in my life.

I want to stay out, but I also want these people that I see lying and insulting people around here have to answer for their behavior. That’s what gets me caught up in all of it.

My wife was taking me to task for it yesterday, saying that it brings out my ugly side.

Regarding post #68: The doc that runs the hyperbaric chamber we use did his doctoral research on ASD and hyperbaric therapy. His name is Frank Morganti, and he runs Pittsburgh Hyperbaric. His theory is that ASD patients have less oxygen going to certain parts of the brain. The hyperbaric chamber therapy increases the amount of oxygen, and also creates new capillaries. Upon our first round, my son's “quirks” lessened greatly. We go back every now and then for what we call a top up. As our son learns new things or experiences new social aspects, the top up is necessary to bring him back to a more level existence; i.e., fewer, if not no, irrational meltdowns and an increased ability to socialize with others.

Of course, and they ours. I was actually a Trump supporter until a few months ago. Heck, I defended him through the whole Megyn Kelly bleeding fiasco! Many of us will vote for Trump if (now when) he’s the nominee. Some of his supporters make that more difficult than it should be. Fortunately, those are few and far between.

He'll love it when he hits Algebra. His reading level is awesome. I was always about 4 grades ahead in reading but I didn't really take off until the 3ed grade. You're kid is going to be really smart.

My parents eventually adopted taking away things I really valued as punishments. I learned some hard lessons and self control that way. Spankings and incentives never worked with me. Whatever you do don't let him lawyer his way out of it of punishments. I got away with that way to much as a kid and it wasn't healthy.
