The REAL GOPe Agenda
4/6/2016 | Rustybucket

Posted on 04/06/2016 7:44:25 AM PDT by Rustybucket

Our coffee club conservative meeting yielded an unusual conclusion, that some thought everyone knew.

The GOPe are pushing for Cruz, but not for the reason some people think. They, In Our Opinion, don’t want Trump to win the nomination because he could/would win against any Clinton/Sanders contest, whereas Cruz, would not win against either of the Democratic contenders.

So they are not backing a winner, they are purposely pushing for the Republican that will lose against the Establishment candidate, probably Clinton.

Why would they do this? To keep Washington exactly as it is, and understand, they don’t give a Da!m about America, just keep the gravy train rolling.

For some in the group, this was a revelation, for others, it was a Duh! moment. How do you feel about this? All of us would be interested in your feedback.

"You ... are ... SPOT ... on."

Rupert Murdock is using the WSJ to smear Mr. Trump every day....it is really obvious and pathetic what Murdock is doing and havin done in his paper. As a subscriber I know what I am talking about.

Trump is a fighter....America needs one.
Trump understands business and money...America needs that.
Trump will not abuse our Constitution, Trump Believes in and will not abuse our First and Second Amendments.
Trump has the ear of everyone wanting a USA handout or keeping a USA handout and they are worried!...Bottom line...we need a smart fighter like Trump AND that man can bea the Criminal HR Clinton!

The purpose of the modern GOP is to block the citizens from stopping The Cheap Labor Express

Support for amnesty and open borders seems to have become THE litmus test for being a mainstream, "respectable" Republican. Deviate too much on this issue and the RNC and its Super PACs will cut you loose.

It's partly about the cheap labor lobby, but it's also an ideological point. Outsourcing and open borders are part of the Sorosite/Davos vision of a transnational world order where international corporations, financial institutions, and bureaucracies supersede sovereign nations. Both the GOP and Democratic establishments have signed onto this program.

You are correct. To maintain the status quo, the GOPe would rather lose to Hillary or Sanders than win with Trump or Cruz because they can’t control either one.

I don’t see Cruz losing to Hillary at all. Cruz is no Mitt Romney and Hillary’s no Obama. Unlike Sanders or Obama, there’s zero enthusiasm for her. Whereas all those grassroots Republicans who sat out 2008 and 2012 will vote in droves for Cruz.

Every poll shows Trump loses to Clinton and Sanders by Goldwater-sized margin. Every poll. When Trump claims polls show he wins, he is bald-faced lying. The brutal scandal-mongering is starting to take a toll on Cruz, too, but he still does far, far, better than Trump.

If you think the polls are lying, and that there is this army of uncounted Trump supporters, please pay attention to the primaries. The primary polls have shown Trump beating Cruz by an average of 20%; in actual ballots, he beats Cruz by an average of only 9%. Consider for instance, Wisconsin. Polls showed Cruz with an average lead of less than 5%, not counting the silly ARG poll that sent FreeRepublic wild, showing Trump actually winning by 10%. The reality is that Cruz won by 15%.

If you think that beating Cruz in the primary means that Trump is more electable, you should know two things:

1. That is a logical non-sequitur. Fewer than 15% of voters vote in primaries, and most primary voters vote for the winner in the general election.

2. Recent polls show that Trump’s large lead over Cruz has evaporated, nationally. Today’s voters have already changed since Super Tuesday.

Now, I don’t say you should vote for Cruz because he’s more electable. I believe you should vote for the best candidate who most fits your issue. But the notion that the GOP establishment wants Cruz because he will lose makes no sense, given that Trump is much more likely to lose.

Also, it’s very unhelpful to understand what’s going on to think of the Establishment as a single entity. Who is the establishment? Congressmen? Local elected officials? The sort of party activists who run as delegates? Traditional campaign donors and lobbyists?

These are not the same people. There is an axis of power between campaign donors and the congressmen who all too willingly serve as their lackeys, which I tend to refer to as “the establishment” perjoratively, because it seems sometimes as if the congressmen would rather bathe in campaign contributions than actually win. And this may be true... I’m not sure many Congressmen would rather go to all the press events and parties and know they have a million-dollar job at K Street when they finally get kicked out of office than be an “outsider” who gets re-elected.

This “establishment” is quite a separate entity from the party activists and grass-roots folks who typically become delegates, and who get out the vote.

The GOPe doesn’t care what the people want, they know what is good for you, and all our choices of candidates have no bearing on their decisions. They want to continue the scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours kind of Gov’t and they don’t want anyone to upset it. Our Gov’t doesn’t produce anything, but for those who are in it, its a great business. Forget their salaries, its all about those fringe benefits that come when you play the insiders game. LOL, if they need more funds? Tax the voters! Bring in an outsider to the game?? NO F’n way.

Try again. Trump’s polling for the general is atrocious.

Does Cruz think he is the GOPe bride walking down the aisle?

GOPe views him as a whore to be discarded after services rendered.

I've been saying this all along.

The GOP basicly got Obama elected... twice. Neither McCain or Romney really tried to win... that was the plan. It was time for a black president, so that's what we got.

Now it's time for a female president. The GOP has been on board with this plan ever since Hillary dropped out against Obama. It is set in stone as far as the establishment is concerned.

Hillary is a horrible candidate. No one likes her, she's obviously a crook and Bill is of little value to her. The GOP's challenge is to figure out how to still lose despite that. Jeb, Kasich, Christie, etc. all would have cooperated. Cruz... perhaps not, but he can't even beat Trump.

Cruz can't possibly win... which is why the GOP will be OK with him. If he becomes nominee the left will trot out videos making him look like a religious nut (for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqpndmBUdX8).

Cruz will scare off every Democrat and many on the right don't like him because of his slimy attacks on Trump and delegate stealing. Cruz is now a safe bet for the GOP... Hillary, despite all her failings, can still beat him.

Cruz’s s specialty appears to be stealing delegates from his own party and that won’t translate in a national contest.
He is Goldman Sachs, but so is Hillary.

Mark this down and see if you can use this against me later.
“If nominated Ted loses the national election, maybe bigly”.

I tend Personally to agree with you, and Trump would upset the carefully balanced applecart, and they don’t want that.

Let me emphasize, they want a democrat to win, as both republican candidates will screw up things for them, but, only Trump knows how to go for the jugular, Cruz does not have a clue IMO.

For Trump, this is a game to Save America, and take it away from and destroy the international powerbrokers, while at the same time, bring business back to the US, and in that process increase jobs, which will bring taxes back into the Treasury coffers, which pay down the debt, reduce taxes, and lower corporate taxes, which brings cash into the coffers, which pay down the debt. Finish the wall, close the borders and allow legal immigration, cut benefits to illegals, penalize those that employ illegals, which saves big money that goes back into the treasury. Start making better trade deals, stop defending the whole world free gratis, and take the babes off the teats of mother America, rout out those who would harm us, and utterly destroy them, if we go into a conflict, we win, and leave. Treat our military and veterans with dignity and care for our vets properly, get America working again, and become once again a manufacturing nation, and not an end user.

I don’t think Cruz has the chops to do this, but, it JMO.

From The Washington Times, we get a quote from Ted today:

“We are winning because we are uniting the Republican party,” Mr. Cruz said.

Think about what he’s really saying there. Who is he “uniting”, exactly? The rank-and-file, or the party machine, who are being told from National>State>Local to get on-board and support the machine. Or else.

Crudely put, but I think accurate. A sacrificial bride. Trump on the other hand, could not be controlled.

I reiterate, we do not consider the polls, which we have found, can be manipulated for the users own purposes, and from what we have found, rarely mirror the people we talk to daily.

So, you are basing your opinion that Trump can win a general and Cruz can’t on feelings?

Good luck with that.
