I suspect you and I define conservatism differently.

For myself, I have explained several times how my conservatism comes - like I believe Trumps does- from the 200 years of conservative thought articulated by philosophers like Edmund Burke and Alexis de Tocqueville to modern thinkers like Russell Kirk and William F. Buckley, not from the modern-day mouthpieces of Limbaugh, Hannity or Levin. For example, Burke’s writings and speeches explain the importance of tradition and custom for public and private guidance; the conviction that men are equal in the sight of God but nowhere else (the root of American Exceptionalism); devotion to personal freedom and private property; and opposition to doctrinaire change.

Donald Trump turned his fathers dream into a global company that has created over 34,000 actual jobs that enable those employees to pay their mortgate, put kids through college, and enjoy their own version of the American Dream. That is putting the principles of conservatism in action. Trump is a living example of the conservative principle that private property and prosperity is inseparable from freedom.

So no, I don’t care if he says a bad word or doesn’t toe someone’s imaginary line of what they think constitutes a conservative. It’s time we had a man of business in the White House.

I cannot speak for Trumpinator.

However, my approach is the opposite of voting for the same bunch of self-proclaimed conservatives who have done nothing but aid and abet the destruction of this country for the last 20 years.

“But you have to vote for us, otherwise the Democrat will win. We will stop them this time. We pinky swear. Trust us.”

Trump took Walker out.

On June 30th, Walker was at 18.3% in Iowa, about 9 points ahead of Rubio, Huckabee, and Paul. Trump, who had joined the race on June 16th, was in 9th place, about 4.5%, behind Rick Santorum.

On July 31st, Walker was at 19.7% ahead of Trump, who was in second place at 13.3%.

On August 6th, the day of the first political debate, Trump had taken the lead at 20.3% to Walker’s 18.7%.

Walker had positioned himself as a D.C. outsider, but Trump took that position away from him (very effectively) at the debate.

A week later, on August 13th, Walker had slid to third place at 11% behind Trump at 19.3% and Carson at 11.7%.

By September 1st, Walker had slid behind Cruz into 4th place.

In none of the above, were any of the GOPe involved in taking out Walker. Trump, Carson and Cruz had taken down the Iowa front runner, and if Trump had not grabbed the lead, Walker would likely have not collapsed like he did.

I was making a point you cna twist ideological purity tests to such an extent that Reagan can be seen as a gun grabber who legalized abortion. Which is true by the way - he did do those things - you have an internet connection as well - I am sure you can look it up.

“Conservatives are for limited govt not zero govt.”

Uhh, yeah. Trump’s not even proposing limited government. If he is, tell me where.

I just don’t have confidence that Donald Trump believes in limited government, in the separation of power, in States rights, and in abiding by the Constitution even when it’s inconvenient.

At least Trump is an American that will stand up for Americans and America instead of trying to sell us out to foreigners all the time like the rest of the eGOP candidates do.

Mike Lee, Cruz and Sessions are the only Conservatives I am aware of in the Senate.

What sort of deals will trump make with his friends McConnell, Schumer and Pelosi?

I sure they are all in on touch and go amnesty.

“Trump is no Reagan and never will be.”

I hope not! Reagan signed amnesty for 3 million illegal aliens!

>> We need someone to reverse the Decline and Fall of Western Civilization <<

A most noble goal. I couldn’t agree more.

So let’s pick a “reality” TV pitchman to bring about the reversal, when the national popularity of “reality” TV is among the most flagrant signs of our on-going cultural sickness?

Or let’s vote for a thrice-married guy, who brags in print about seducing other men’s wives, when the debasement of marriage is among the worst features of today’s cultural rot?

Or let’s give the Presidential “bully pulpit” to a braggadocious practitioner of personal insults and obscene speech, when the loss of civility among our young people gets worse by the week?

No thanks.

I already told you why I don’t support him. You claim he is. So tell me what he’s proposed that is.

Yeah trump who has donated to the Clinton foundation is the only real conservative, as opposed to Cruz who has fought rhinos and rats in the Senate tooth and nail, yeah that the ticket.

Did I mention that trump is a salesman?

Trump will get things done per a conservative leaning ideology he espouses.

How is it you know this? because Trump has told you has smart he is?

To buy TRUMP INC you have to buy the sales pitch from TRUMP INC .There is little else to guide you.

Scott Walker, Rick Perry, Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina?

All vastly superior to Dear Leader Trump.

Even my wife, who rarely follows politics, has noticed this.

She said to me the other day that other than “I’ll build the wall”, Trump doesn’t say anything specific. Just that “It’s gonna be great”. He’ll have a “great” Obamacare replacement, he’ll get “great deals” against China, Mexico, etc. He’s going to make the military “great”, everything will be “great”, America will be “great”. Great in what way? Great how? He never specifies. He just let’s the listener fill in the blank of what they think great is, and they think that’s what Trump meant.

yes. he’s a deal maker. So if he becomes President. it will be business as usual.

Yeah, Trump NEVER wins when he makes a deal? Right? He just caves in and gives the other side everything the want. That's why he's so unsuccessful at business.
