Representative Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY) (D-Bronx) and 91 other Democrats sent a letter to Obama this week asking him to go even further with his executive actions and ban the import of "assault weapons."

Engel wrote the letter, in which he claimed "a mass shooting on average each day this year in this country." He described Obama's executive action to expand background checks as "important," then asked Obama to use the language of the Gun Control Act of 1968 to stop "assault weapons" from entering the country....

When will someone demand that he specify the mass shootings that he has referred to? It would be all over the news if such had happened. ...The FBI, I think, counts a mass shooting as 3-4 victims at a time. ....Nothing like that has happened “on average” (?) every day this year.

Fine. Ban the import, if you can. GWHB did. Result? Americans will make their own semi-automatic rifles. And TENS OF MILLIONS of AR-15s, AK's, and other self-loading magazine-fed rifles have been sold since, especially after the Federal "Assault Weapons" Ban expired.

They’ve forgotten the lesson that Gore demonstrated. Bush wouldn’t have won if Gore had taken WV, a Democrat state. With his anti-gun rhetoric Gore had a snowball’s chance in hell of taking the state.

I knew when Charlton Heston visited he was wasting his time. The state was a lock for Bush. If you check, you’ll find too that Obama never visited the state to campaign.
