Martial law was declared so that Congress could pass TARP without having to use the normal procedures, if I’m understanding correctly. TARP wasn’t passed for some time and we survived, but that didn’t stop martial law from happening.
One EMP from the now-armed Iran and/or North Korea, coming from the southern hemisphere where we have no radar defense, would do the trick nicely (if you’re Obama). And in November and December Obama will be out of the country, visiting his communist/terrorist pals in Cuba, Venezuela, etc. Perfect time to have his buddies attack - making chaos before any President-elect could be installed, and effectively making Obama POTUS for the “8-10 years” he said he’d be POTUS, back in July of 2008.
Just sayin’.
I’m sure some Hezbollah, Hamas, Muslim Brotherhood, or ISIS folks would be happy to help Obama “get control of the situation” if we were hit with an EMP...
Why do you think he’s been holding our southern door wide open for them? Iran sent unchecked flights of Hezbollah and Hamas operatives into Venezuela. Where do you think those operatives are right now, and how do you think they got there? And what do you think they will do when the SHTF?

Trump’s VP will likely be someone with military credentials. People on his list..probably we aren’t aware of. A couple will have names we are familiar with (eg West) but who knows who Trump might pick. As the first vote draws near, the guessing game gets more intense.

In an EMP-type situation it would be chaos, and the military (whose command center in Colorado - which they just moved back into not too long ago - is built into a mountain that is naturally hardened against the effects of an EMP) would easily see it as a service to fire on panicking American citizens. They’ve seen what happened in the mini-outbursts of rioting and criminality associated with the BLM crap.
Everything Obama’s done has brought us to a point where our enemies have the nuke it takes to attack us as they’ve said they would when they have the nuke to do it, and we have no southern radar defense to detect an attack and thwart it. The big bunker under the White House is ready to go, and Obama’s going to be out of the US in November and December. He doesn’t seem too worried about either Trump or Cruz winning, or Hillary possibly being in jail by election time, or Bernie Sanders being crazy. It’s almost as if he knows the election will be moot.
There’s a bunch more that should be considered as well - such as Janet Napolitano’s statements, FEMA buying patterns, the commmunist and Islamist connections Obama’s had his whole life long, a speech by Ghadaffi saying that foreign Muslims got Obama elected, etc. I think everybody feels in their gut that there is a cataclysmic event coming, and all Obama’s actions arming, training, funding, excusing, and importing our enemies has been working towards a climactic end, and I suspect it’ll be an EMP attack. God knows we’re vulnerable, and our now-armed enemies are fanatical enough to do it and have already practiced the delivery system for an EMP attack...

The military plus Federal law enforcement doesn’t have the numbers
The military plus Federal law enforcement plus state law enforcement doesn’t have the numbers
The military plus Federal law enforcement plus state law enforcement plus local law enforcement doesn’t have the numbers.
And keep in mind that throughout that list there will be a lot of people who will refuse to go along. As you get further down in the list the chances that people will refuse to go along will grow. There are LOTS of local law enforcement leaders in flyover country who have explicitly stated that they will not comply with any attempt to Federalize them.
Nationwide martial law just isn’t going to happen. The result wouldn’t be civil war, it would be the chaos of simple non-compliance.
It was also a month before the DNC Convention. 2 weeks before Bill Gwatney and Stephanie Tubbs each, in turn, agreed to present a petition (for a 2nd round of voting at the DNC Convention so that delegates could switch their votes to Hillary after she exposed Obama’s ineligibility), and each, in trun, died suddenly within days of agreeing to do so.
It was 2 months before the 9-11 run on the bank, which came as our Middle East intelligence sources were saying an act of economic terrorism was imminent.
It was 3 months before Soros, Axelrod, and Rahm Emanuel threatened the media heads that something terrible would happen if on-air personalities spoke about Obama’s eligibility issue or Muslim leanings - resulting in the media heads telling the on-air personalities that they would lose their career if they allowed such talk and implied that they and their loved ones could be killed if they disobeyed the order.
A lot going on around then. And yet Obama confidently said he would be POTUS for “the next 8-10 years”.
What happens if we get hit with an EMP and there are no vehicles that work or gas stations with electricity to pump gas even if somebody had a vehicle that worked?
What would law enforcement and military do amid that chaos, and how would they protect us from the many, many terrorist sleeper cells all over the country that are simply awaiting the signal to go for our jugular?
Maybe not. But he and Valerie's friends in Iran probably could. I keep thinking about the TV series Jericho. That scenario is seeming more and more plausible as each day goes by now.
I’m more concerned about Black Lives Matter thugs riled up by federal decree and cops doing nothing as it goes national, so the assaults on studying students on Ivy League colleges and shut down of Mall of America take place everywhere while the police are told to give the rioters space.
There isn’t enough police or military to enforce Martial Law in this country. You can do it in a town, city, maybe a small state but how will you do it nationally.
