Elections Rush Limbaugh: ‘Compared To Reagan, Trump Is Not A Conservative’ [VIDEO] Photo of Steve Guest Steve Guest Media Reporter 3:59 PM 11/24/2015 981

Radio host Rush Limbaugh said Tuesday that Donald Trump is “not a conservative” when compared with former President Ronald Reagan.

Limbaugh explained, that “compared to Reagan, Trump is not a conservative, and the bulk of Trump’s support is not the Republican base.”

“As we mentioned yesterday, if you look at the demographics, at least as expressed polling data, the bulk of Trump support is what we all have been led to believe the Republican Party wants: blue-collar people, moderates and independents,” suggested Limbaugh. “I mean there’s the fact that they don’t control Trump, and the real thing is they don’t have any money invested, and as such they have no say-so over what he does at all.”

The fact is that the border wall is already approved and congress has simply refused to fund more than a tiny fraction of it.

Even if we could get Mexico to pay, that doesn’t mean the president would have any power to use that money to pay for a border wall. Getting congress to fund a wall is going to take political skill and many allies in congress.

Personally I don’t want even more money collected for anything. I want unconstitutional spending on agencies, subsidies, projects, etc defunded and the money appropriated from the savings to fund real border security.

While I don’t disagree with your premise, I am concerned that the singular focus of many on the immigration catastrophe has blinded some of us to overlook many of the Donald’ s positions over the years relative to the principles of the conservative movement. I won’t regurgitate the full list, many others have, and will continue to note where Trump is divergent from what we have called for for years.

My biggest concern is that we are going to elect the GOP version of Obummer. I am most concerned about governing via E.O.’s. Will we cheer on our Ceaser after 8 years of his High and Mightiness, and does this portend the end of the Republic, or the beginning of its restoration, it’s hard to tell with Trump.

I am convinced that Trump has even odds of becoming our nominee, I hope he has the guts to unite the party and picks Cruz as his veep, he needs a Constitutionally grounded conservative to put the federal leviathan in check and return power to the states and we the people. Let Ted go nuts in Washington and the Donald set overall policy goals. The veep IS the President of the Senate, after all, let’s see what happens.

I will back Cruz. Barring his nomination, I will pull the lever for Trump and hope. Trump/Cruz would make that much easier.

Your post is quite right.....

....as only God determines who attains the Presidency, my hope resides there.

I so want it to be Trump.....and personally believe ( and have from the start)
that God has chosen this man to lead us through this terrible time.

He can be finessed.....I believe his ‘tone’ will comply with most expectations once he is ‘in’.....without losing the fierce protection he assumes over this nation!
...I am witnessing a groundswell of HOPE from We, the People!!!....and I’m certainly one of them!

“Only the constitution matters to me and anyone who doesn’t put it first and foremost will never ever get my vote period.”

Amen to that.. there’s been far more than enough unconstitutional crap flowing out of this administration.

There are dozens of examples Limbaugh could have used where Trump demonstrated during this campaign that he does not think or approach problems in conservative terms let alone understand them and is unable to bring them up.. But views challanges in a very personal way

From the outset his battles with Fox and Kelly and then Trump going on CNN following the debate when he could have cited how the press abused Palin as well as other conservatives started bringing up Kellys body functions.

Trumps exchange with Jorge (Univision). Trump could have asked him if he believes Mexico has legitimate claim to American states as well as bring up Mexican treatment of illegals. Then asking why should the US permit land ownership when legal American retirees cannot own land in their own name or vote there.

The way the Mexicans are treating Americans should be the issue and would dump the quote hispanic unquote krap.

I agree with the real security idea. There are enough unemployed to effectively man the border patrol to do the job correctly. Screw the dumb wall idea.

That may well be true, but Regan was a man of his day as The Donald is a man of his day.

Rush is wrong because Rush is really a Libertarian pretending to be a conservative. He makes a lot of money doing it and is entertaining but he is no more a conservative than Trump.

Neither is a conservative. Trump is a populist/nationalist and Rush is a Libertarian. We need the former to “put out the fire”.

Trump maybe the only candidate willing to declare US bankrupt. I don’t see Cruz or any other candidate willing to do this

There are plenty of areas where a wall or fence are an effective first line of defense but a first line is all it is and it isn’t effective in all areas.

Just having a president friendly to border patrol, faithful to the constitution and law will be the most effective border and immigration control measure we could possibly have.

Walls are effective everywhere. They work 7/24 and are not subject to the political winds.

Trump is like Reagan!

Not that he is a conservative but he’s just what this country needs at the time. “We will will be winning so much that you are going to get bored of it.”

Something you have to remember about Rush....He has a hard time with the recognizing a conservative. In ‘08 he noted that Romney represented the 3 legs of conservatism. http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2008/02/04/one_candidate_now_stands_for_all_three_legs_of_conservatism

I feel the same way.

I also like his pride in the USA and the wish to get rid of the illegal aliens. Also to refuse the refugees coming in, seeing them as a danger to the US citizens.

These are major to me.
