How Cro-Magnon Defend against a Moose Attack

Here's your Tuesday stupid video on man vs moose, please do not try this at home. When Moose attack, they don't mess around and they're not going to stop until they have done serious damage to you. If you piss one off..they are going to get you. Moose are known to be pretty aggressive animals, but that doesn't mean they are just out running around looking for people to attack. Moose are to be treated with respect, like all other animals. Now if for some reason or another, a Moose attacks you for no reason, then by all means, defend yourself with whatever you can at your disposal!

See the video here. But if you are out and about and see a Moose and YOU start messing with it, well you deserve to get your ass kicked.

Is that a cow moose? I wouldn’t try that with a testosterone crazed bull in the rut.

Young moose can be intimidated. This one is young. Average adult moose is ~6 feet at the shoulder.

A cow with a calf in the area (seen or hidden) is the more likely to kill or hospitalize you.

Do not mess with animals who are bigger than you.
It's that simple.

That one is still a baby.

Mommie or Daddy moose probably wouldn’t back down so quickly.

Used to play chicken with bulls when I was a kid. A human can
outmaneuver a bull fairly easy if you stay calm and keep your
head.

Buddy of mine and I were in his pickup on a remote woods road. Went nose-to-nose with a cow, who was just as big as we were. Especially at a range of about 3 feet.

She wasn't moving and we couldn't drive around her. Just stood her ground in the middle of the road. Then, after a solid 5 minutes, she turned around and moosed off.

It was early summer, we figured that there must have been a calf around somewhere. Unlike these fools, however, we had the good sense to stay in the truck. :-)

I'll go one further. Don't mess with wild animals unless you are ready and able to kill them. I've seen a 10 lb coon tear up a 100 lb coon dog. I had a friend attacked by a squirrel (the squirrel thought he should be fed). And I dealt with wild hogs. You might win, but do you want the medical bills and scars?

Talk of coons, those things are vicious. They are very quick. I’ve watched videos of them attacking their own kind, very savage. They stand their ground with skunks and porcupines. Only thing that makes them run is coyote.

10 lbs seems small, but I can definitely see it tear up a 100 pound dog.

Had a buddy preparing for a motocross race on a narrow logging skid trail. As he was flying around this tight blind corner, there was a bull moose straddling the skid trail. My friend said there was no room to go around the moose nor room to stop without hitting the moose, so he laid the motorcycle down. He said he laying about 5-6 feet from the moose with the motorcycle even closer. He said the moose just stood there the whole time looking at him and then turned his head and calmly ambled off the skid trail. Odd creatures.
