Rallying around Carson is exactly the sucker’s play GOPe and media want to see

The Republican Party establishment will be jumping to Ben Carson’s defense this week. So will a few Democrats and a few media people. They would all love to see Carson as the Republican nominee because they know he would lose massively to their favorite felon Hillary Clinton. Jumping to support Carson plays right into the hands of those who want to see her as the next president.

It is all so simple.

The Democrat controlled media hates Republicans and hates Black so-called conservative Republicans even more. Such people destroy their lies and make them look like the frauds they are.

It is precisely for this reason that it is not tactically wise to rally around Carson now that he is undergoing the media’s anal examination that was to be expected as he began to rise up the polls.

A dispassionate review of what Carson brings to the table, his lack of substantive ideas at best, bad ideas and crazy beliefs at worst, makes him the best hope the media has of electing their favorite felon.

“….Herman Cain destroyed by outright lies made up by Chicago thugs. They killed his chances of advancing and stopping Barack Obama. That got us an empty suit named Mitt Romney who ran a halfhearted campaign and lost. America cannot survive another Democrat president.

Our future is on the line in this next election. If we choose to use our nomination as an exercise in breast beating piety and nominate Carson to prove we hate the media but not Black people, we will be making a tragic mistake.

Carson would be eviscerated by savagely bias media who will use his own words against him. They will not have to make things up.

“ cartoons of him standing in front of a pyramid..”

I like to go to original sources. The video is Carson speaking about the offer to West Point. So everyone can judge his statement themselves.

If I had made the statement that he made and I was exaggerating the truth as he clearly was I would have felt I had misrepresented myself and had lied. I would never have done so because in so doing I would have put myself in an untenable situation. Do you think this is the only situation he has misrepresented? What leverage would he give to America’s enemies by his lack of intellectual integrity?

The Presidency of the United States is not a prize to be given out for niceness or reparations. It is a serious and awesome responsibility. It is hard sometimes to find the right person to hold that trust and this winnowing is a necessary part of the process. Niceness is dangerous because it allows people to hide their flaws and exposes the country to electing a leader who will not put America first.

principled conservative movement? We have not had a principled conservative since Reagan. That is thirty years ago.

I wasn't talking about politicians. I was talking about the grass roots. Like people on this website and people I met at rallys and protests in DC or protesting Hillary in NYC.

To see so many people here get all fanboi and trip over themselves trying to shed their principles and support a silver-spooned big government populist (who brags about being a happy customer in the selling out of our government) is disheartening to say the least.

Now this article, that says we can't defend a good man from attacks because it might sully our devotion or distract us in our mission to the glorious Trump. It's disgusting.

How about we just ignore the media and don’t continue to play their game

Well stated, I think even Carson’s supporters would admit (maybe privately) that Carson will be much easier for the left to ‘mold’ into the type of Republican they want, at least versus Trump.

Time to cut our losses with this “front runner.” He is a gaffe machine who may be having a problem with fabricating his life story, he may be a good Surgeon General, but after these incidents I’m starting to have doubts about that too.

I can’t see Carson getting the nomination. Things like supporting Obamatrade will cause him to implode.

As I stated as a reply to another post...

I will not rally round Carson. I don’t think that he has the skill set for the job. Period.

That being said, I also find it curious that his story changes and that incidents he references either have people long gone or people who do not want to be contacted. I’ve seen people who offer the ‘do you trust me or them’ and if it comes to blind trust, I’m on the ‘trust but verify’ side. Carson did state that he’d been offered a full scholarship. I saw the video where he made that statement. He did not hedge when he stated that as fact. Now he’s hedging. I’ve read the story about the attempt to stab someone at least two different ways. Apparently, he’s comfortable with telling the same story differently, with conflicting details. I’m not comfortable with reading that. I want someone to keep his story straight, especially if I’m considering voting for him. Is Carson’s mother still alive? Can she corroborate his wanting or trying to attack her with a hammer?

I tend to go with my gut instinct, and I’m getting bad vibes from Carson.

I will add to this post—Carson got himself into this mess by statement he made or wrote. He’s going to have to get himself out of it. I still won’t vote for him.

Wow, outstanding. Make me almost want to change my tag line.

God, Trump has really done irreparable damage to the once-principled conservative movement.

Yes. If they, the media, can do that to Carson, they can and will do it all conservatives. I don't like Carson as a candidate either, but that's beside the point.

Conservatives joining liberals in piling on other conservatives have nothing to cry about when their candidate is savaged by the media. We should defend Carson on principle and not because he's not my candidate.

I'm a Cruz supporter and Carson is far out ahead of Cruz, but I will not support a leftwing hatchet job against a good man and a good conservative to move Cruz up the chain.

Trump supporters are different.

I believe we should search out the truth and defend that. Defending candidates on general principles is very dangerous. Sometimes you wind up holding a bag with something rotten.
That said holding fire until you have all the facts and taking everything in the media with 10000 grains of salt is also good policy before defending or attacking.

I know politics can be a dirty sport...but really...you are saying that America should be treated like a piece of filthy dirt laying on the sidewalk?

No, I'm sorry but America has better than this...America is the Greatest Nation in the World, hopefully to become THE Greatest...but this type of ‘witch hunt’ and ‘filthy reporting’ is way beneath Her standards and any one who lets this go by is no better than the scum that wrote it...

I'm not defending Carson, nor will I rally around him, he is a grown man and can do that on his own, but for us to let this go on with this writer is not right...he should be fired immediately....and I don't care all about this ‘first amendment’ right crap, this is way over the top on that...

I am not a sucker and I don't support Carson. This is perfect time to call out the media for their flagrant double standards. Carson's transgressions are pale compared to the whoppers liberals routinely get away with.

Anybody remember John Kerry's Christmas in Cambodia?
It is impossible to summarize all the lies Gore, Obama and the Clinton's have told over the years. (Never mind the outright scandals and demagoguery.)

The important take away is that LYING IS A CORE VALUE OF THE LEFT. (The end justifies the means.)

Always remember that successful black conservatives are a white liberal's worst enemy.

Trump could be straight from an episode of “The Simpsons”.

Homer comes up with the catchy phrase “you’re fired” and pretty soon everyone is falling all over themselves because it’s just so witty and they want Homer to be president.

Going from community organizer as president to a self promoting BS artist reality TV host as president and people wonder why the country is falling apart.
