Obama may not be willing to stand up for Christians, but God is. I don't always know how He's going to do it, but I'll take His protection over that of Vladimir Putin any day - and you should too.
A friend of mine responded to the headline as follows: “Hitler said the same thing in 1933.”
Lest you get concepts confused, I don’t think Putin is talking about riding in shirtless on a horse to defend the rights of Christian bakeries and florists, nor to save the would-be victims of Christian-hating gunmen. But the threat he references is not insiginificant, existing mainly of course in the Middle East and coming from radical Islamist sources. The Christian Post reports that many Christians in Syria are pleased to see Putin intervening on Bashar Assad’s behalf because they figure their lot is better with Assad then it would likely be with whoever might replace him. The subsequent presentation of Putin as a big supporter of Christians in general is a bit rich to say the least:
Obama is worse than a KGB thug.
Sad.

I never said he was great, but at least he doesn’t hate Christians like Obama does.
Damn shame we have such a Gawdawful person representing us. If that was not so, we would be proud instead of ashamed that he is worse than Putin.
Putin doesn’t love America, he probably doesn’t even like America. But I don’t believe he hates Ameica. Unlike Obama.

I find it easier to believe Putin is a Christian than Obama. Of course that's not saying much.
Just as there are Catholics supporting gay marriage and abortion. CINOs if you prefer the term. We do have a falling away that cuts across denominational lines, some more than others.. Either way, an apostasy is taking place.
You're probably right, however Putin's job is to act in the best interests of Russia and Russians, ... not Americans.

I actually have less of a problem personally with Putin than I do with the current nefarious resident in the White Hut.

Here’s one that may make your head explode. I don’t know about Putin, other than I believe he’s a power-hungry dictator as I believe Obama to be (however, I think Obama is much more of an “ideologue” than what I know of Putin which isn’t very much. I get the feeling Obama’s doing this becasue of his own moral view of the world (since he was little, steeped in Marxism with Alinsky thrown in for good measure) not necessarily primarily for personal power).
If that didn’t do it this may. If you’ve seem my posts about Obama, you’ll see I hate basically everything he stands for. I believe he hates America and has committed impeachable and removable treason multiple times. Nevertheless, I believe him to be a Christian. That doesn’t make what he does OK as some think and in a way it is totally besides any relevant point on policy, politics, or America’s future. The sooner Obama goes the better.
Nevertheless, I do believe he is born again. A lot of people get all twisted up about that. But these apparently are people who don’t realize that there are a lot of deceived Christians running around. The only thing it takes to be a Christian is accept Jesus Christ. The hell Jesus went through made it easy for us to become Christian. And God always works from the inside out. A lot of people love to judge others based on what they see, but “God judges the heart” and those that have received his Son are His. There will be a lot of surprised people in Heaven because God’s grace is greater than any of us can really fathom (Eph 2:7).
One of the biggest threats to Christianity is that oozing puddle of muslim puss in the White House. So I hope Pooty-Poot keeps that in mind.
Islam is a raging inferno, destroying everything it touches. Putin acknowledges that, and is putting the fire out the way firefighters put fires out - they put them stone-cold OUT. Not kinda out. Not warm.
