‘Saturday Night Live’ Premiere Basically a Hillary Clinton Campaign Ad
The Daily Beast ^ | October 4, 2015 | Kevin Fallon

Miley Cyrus may have hosted the SNL Season 41 premiere, but the show was all about applauding Hillary Clinton—and not just when she appeared.

Live From New York…it’s a Hillary Clinton campaign ad.

On Saturday night, Studio 8H was briefly remodeled into a pop-up Ready For Hillary campaign headquarters for the 41st season premiere of Saturday Night Live.

The guest of honor herself even showed up for a heavily teased set, one that was tailor-made to lampoon the two biggest critiques of her persona—that her presidential ambition can at times read as deranged entitlement and desperation, and that she lacks relatable charisma—all while not-so-slyly dropping campaign platform items disguised as jokes...

Color me surprised. SNL has been a liberal political POS for years. Make that decades.

She thinks a one hour ad will fool people. Sorry but you can’t undo in one hour what you’ve done in 40 + years....

They helped Carter defeat Ford and tried again four years later.

Prior to the new show NBC ran an homage to SNL over the years, some pretty funny stuff & some better stuff skipped over (Al Gore figured largely - a pun if you say so). They underlined that anyone could be spoofed in the early days before taking credit for ending the war in Vietnam and savaging conservatives ever after...that’s when I switched over to “American Pickers” on TV and “Killing Reagan” in hard cover (which book sucks as of my present page mark).

Yup, just another "killing" book by Martin Dugard which once again Bill O'Reilly wants to take credit for.

It didn’t even occur to me to watch SNL, but I watched the video when an earlier FR thread had a link to it. Maybe some viewers will take away from it the idea that Hillary is a lush.

Hillary and Miley. The two biggest skanks, together on one stage. Glad I missed it.

The GOPe is so stupid.

They have spent all of these years toadying up to Progressives and disrespecting True Conservatives, and they STILL can’t get the fawning treatment they crave.

I haven’t watched in decades. Used to love it when Steve Martin was on, but that was a loooong time ago. Murphy’s Buckwheat Sings made my wife pee her pants we were laughing so hard!

They could have great fun with drunken Hillary skits...

But it's a liberal crap show.

SNL hasn’t been funny for 30 years.

It will work on some of the remaining low-information whites that still watch SNL...

"SNL hasn’t been funny for 30 years."

"Political humor" is about the lamest kind of humor out there.

PARTICULARLY when it comes from leftists, which make up about 99% of comedians.

It becomes stale about 2 weeks after the "jokes" have cooled.

I used to like Patton Oswalt, because he generally stayed away from political humor.

I recently heard re-runs of his routine on Obama from 2008, and I cringed.

It was all about how FINALLY we have a guy who will solve all the worlds problems, and everyone will have "Hoverboots", but yet some yahoos from Arkansas will hate him "because he's a n*****".

No, Patton, your routines simply sucked.

Obama sucks.

And you were funny at one time.

So was “Samurai Delicatessen.”

It’s a pity so many of the old shows are forgotten.

"So was “Samurai Delicatessen.”"

Back when SNL went for the laughs rather than (a lot of) political crap.

I didn't know at the time, but the host, Buck Henry was injured during that episode. IIRC, Belushi accidentally nicked him with the sword.

At the end of the show Henry has a bandage on his forehead.
