I just ran across this on the eBay forum and thought it is worth a post. It may be nothing, but in light of recent events, see something, say something.

Hmm. Give him the $15 and block him from bidding in the future.
I have been mad at buyers and sellers for various reasons. There are times when you must fight back on principle. Many times when you cannot prove anything it is better to just cut your losses and never deal with them again.

$15 says he never served the military.

maybe the buyer isn’t unstable as most ppl suggested in the forum. He was just pretending to be so he could scam $15 off the seller by sounding threatening and scare the seller returning the $15 and not going to the police

I couldn’t agree more, I have a full time eBay business and customer service is what makes or breaks you.

How do you block? I’ve come across some ebayers who pretend to be something they’re not, just to get a discount

They keep moving things around so if I remember correctly, look on your “myebay” page and go to the bottom where there is a list of actions you can take. One of the actions is to block bidders.
It might be on your seller summary page. One of your personalized pages. Or just search “block bidders” and it should come up. If you have trouble, ask me again and I will go figure it out for you.

One thing that bother me about ebay is that seller CANNOT leave a negative feedback to buyer. WHY NOT? Only buyers could leave a negative feedback. If this buyer has a history of negative feedback, maybe sellers could have some protection as well

I've never liked the 'see something/say something' thing.
Everyone is going to have a different option of what that "something" is.
It's just Big Brother encouraging neighbors to call the government for "something" they don't like.

There are some rotten buyers out there. Some are just that dishonest. Still, $15 is not worth the fight. I would report them if necessary but give them the money and then block them.

Actually, in his situation I’d be embarrassed sh*tless. No wonder he isn’t the plaintiff.

Do you make a good profit? I just sell my own junk and make no profit at all. It is nice to have that way to sell thing rather than pay a newspaper or have a garage sale.

I tend to agree with you. I served during VN and spend a lot of time a the VA hospital and have never met anyone like this.
I don’t think it is worth $15 though to have a red flag hoisted in your yard.

I sell smart phone repair parts, it is a high volume site. After all the fees, COGS, shipping & supplies it is about 5% net. Lot's of hours, but it keeps me busy and the commute is great.

Since seller can’t leave negative feedback. I actually got saved once by a reading a buyer’s feedback history. Another seller said this buyer don’t pay, so eventually I canceled the transaction
