Browser Info Needed- Broader Slider Wanted
meshuge mikey ^ | October 2, 2015 | Meshuge Mikey

Ive just upgraded with a new Mac computer and new software

One of my first impressions after launching Chrome and Safari browsers is that the sliders on the right hand side of the brower windows are too small for my liking.

Is this a new mac standard or do I have the option of increasing the width of said sliders?

No scroll wheel?

I almost never touch the slider.

An elongated slider.

Ditto. Someone should create a “geezer browser” IMO.
And why does IE waste a whole row across the top for just a line, square, and an x?

Right hand side, or left hand side, White Casle Hamburgers are always too small - It's part of their charm.

Is this a new mac standard or do I have the option of increasing the width of said sliders?

Two words: Burger King.

I use a blue-tooth Apple mouse, and I can either use my index finger on the mouse to scroll, or I can use the arrow buttons on the keyboard. With the Apple mouse, you can choose which direction you want it to scroll in the system preferences.

Those thin sliders can be annoying, but not as annoying as Trump. :)

The posters who mentioned the Magic Mouse with scrolling have the best solution. I never have to pull down on the sliders with a scrolling mouse. There are cheaper scrolling Mouses (Mice?) out there, but the one from Apple is by far the best. See if you can get one on eBay for a little less than retail.

Upgrade to Microsoft. The slider bar in Edge is fine.

You use two fingers on the mouse, mouse pad, or trackpad to scroll. . . solves the problem forever of having to try and click on the sliders. Any body else have suggestions? — PING!

I find I almost never use the slider bars ever since switching to a Magic Trackpad. Scrolling is very fast. I’m looking forward to an update trackpad with ForceTouch.

Maybe change to large? It says sidebar icon size so not sure.

Try a Chrome extension

Or edit the css file to customize it yourself

Mac UI elements generally aren’t too customizable, because they enforce pretty strict standards to ensure a similar interface for all the programs and the OS.

Of course, I stopped using Macs way back in the day, but I don’t think that has changed since then.

I use a bluetooth magic trackpad. Seems like forever I've been using two fingers on it to scroll, can't remember when I haven't. Use three fingers to select a block to copy or move. If you can't check your settings.

what Manner of Browser is that?

I miss the easily visible blue sliders. Although as the day wears on I am getting used to the feel of most of my system and app improvements
