their were no .308’s fired at Twin Peaks.

One must remember that there are tolerances involved.

For example, the SAAMI specs for the 32 ACP show a bullet diameter spread from .3065 to .3125.
Therefore a 32 ACP could have fired a .308 bullet.

I don't think a .308 round would chamber in a .32 ACP.
