Economists Brace for September: “Building Up to Catastrophe of Historic Proportions”
SHTF Plan ^ | 8/18/15 | Mac Slavo

Posted on 08/18/2015 3:49:31 PM PDT by Kartographer

Is the collapse imminent, and our very way of life under threat of total global meltdown?

Perhaps the signs and warnings are there, at every level, for those who want to see it.

An outright panic has taken hold over many who see September 2015 as a convergence of ominous events – including the Pope’s visit to America, the United Nations summit on Agenda 21-like development, expectations for a stunning policy change at the Federal Reserve, unprecedented experiments at CERN and the end of the seven year business cycle, a date that has already seen the tragic events of 9/11 and the 2008 economic collapse in this century.

The people who don’t prep will call the ones who’ve invested their time and money selfish and mean.

The non-preppers will demand the preppers ‘share’ with them.

The only thing I’m going to share with non-preppers is my ammo...one round at a time. There will be lots of leaking non-preppers.

That’s right. I’m mean AND selfish. I also have a bad attitude and no tolerance for ignorance, especially willful ignorance.

Well that’s nice and all, but it still doesn’t negate the fact that these same people have been making up dates every few months for almost 20 years proclaiming that the “end is near”, only to then be wrong, and to then go right back to selling stuff to a new crop of people they can dupe into thinking that the economic collapse is right around the corner.

Good post.
Timing is everything.
No doubt our debt is unsustainable.
The real problem is predicting when the markets will puke it up.

Been a few years since we’ve had a hurricane here. Went through the 3 that hit central FL back in, was it ‘06? Wish I had had some of those misting fans. I do have a big one for outside that hooks up to a garden hose. Do you have a brand you like for inside? Amazon has some USB designs that use a rechargable battery that can be charged off of solar charges.

Larry Edelson [Research Director for Weiss Research said] “On October 7, 2015, the first economic super cycle since 1929 will trigger a global financial crisis of epic proportions. It will bring Europe, Japan and the United States to their knees, sending nearly one billion human beings on a roller-coaster ride through hell for the next five years. A ride like no generation has ever seen. I am 100 percent confident it will hit within the next few months.”

Do these people think before they speak? We may be headed for a crash, but nobody can predict this stuff down to the day, nor how long it will last.

I’m not basing my actions on signs or past events based on cycles, but $18 T in debt with massive entitlement spending and increasing fascism - has had me pull out of the market entirely and move to a rural location. I spent the morning picking apples from our massive apple trees and have been canning like crazy.

Hubby is putting a hand-crank pump on the well as we speak, and has been cutting trees with a chainsaw, ready for me to split and stack.

This is the life I want anyway. That it ties into being prepared is even better!

Not many houses in Florida with a basement. The high water table makes the houses float. ;)

LOL! I don’t think I’d want one then either ;)

I see why you are worried about A/C. Our winter would be the same concern. Every place will have it’s issues. The California coast would have good weather year round- but with all the liberals and illegals there, I’d rather deal with weather issues!

Winter is fantastic, summer is awful. Right now it’s 106 degrees (weather station is in the sun) with a heat index of 135 and a whopping 2 mph breeze. Most houses here weren’t built for not having a/c running most of the year. For example, our home has no windows that open on the east side of the house, so if the breeze were from that direction it wouldn’t help. Unless you hand pick your lot, have a working knowledge of the prevailing weather patterns in the area, hire an architect to design your home to make optimal use of those weather patterns and custom build your home I don’t really see that there’s any way around it. It’s just going to be hot. Really really hoping the electric grid doesn’t go down. Hubby is an electrical engineer and has designed a solar system to run our water pump, but big enough to run the whole house would involve a battery bank half the size of a 2 car garage and solar panels over the whole roof and the tens of thousands of dollars to pay for it. :) And yes, I’d rather be hot than deal with the liberals!

One of their "economists" is Larry Edelson who told all of his devotees in June of 2013 that the drop in gold pricing was over and it was time for them to buy again. In the two years since then gold has lost about 30% of it's value.

This is a cottage industry that can only prosper if they scare people to death.

As you said, when you make the same prediction you are bound to be right eventually. Sure, they were right about 2008, but they've been misleading investors ever since. I recall a good two years when the stock market rise was being described as "pump and dump." It was a great theory, but the dump never came.

The price/earnings ratio of stocks today is in line with what it's been for the past century. Sure the market might drop a little, but the drop the goldbugs are looking for isn't on the horizon.

Here is my favorite quote from the sales pitch (I refuse to call it an article):

the end of the seven year business cycle, a date that has already seen the tragic events of 9/11 and the 2008 economic collapse in this century.

Now, how can we be at the "end" of a cycle that they've been telling us isn't actually real? Secondly, how is 9/11 related to a business cycle? (Though plenty in the tinfoil crowd are convinced that 9/11 was an "inside job.")

But you should click the link, it is full of people selling gold, ammo, body armor and camping equipment.

Here's what these people should be asking themselves, why are the owners of these gold companies wanting to sell their gold for dollars if they really believe that the dollar will be worthless in a few weeks? PS: when they start talking about "fiat money" it's always a good idea to remind them that gold is the ORIGINAL fiat money, it's only other real purpose is jewelry.

That was my concern before we escaped Mexifornia. Weather was certainly at the top of our list when figuring out where to Go Galt.

In Mexifornia, they were going nuts putting solar on everyone’s houses. I hear the PG&E bill really did go down to very little. I wonder why it works so much better out there - more days of cloudless, blistering sun I imagine!

Isn’t it great having handy husbands? Mine is fixing a pump for our well, in case the city water fails us. He fixed the A/C unit after the Carrier technicians came out, shook their heads, called the manufacturer, and still didn’t know what to do! We never heard from them, other than them recommending replacing the whole unit! It’s only 5 years old, BTW. I think the dumbing of our country has had it’s desired outcome, in every sector :)

ps. I remember the winters in Corpus- fantastic! Summer was 6 months and the heat didn’t let up once, not until October.

A neighbor just told me today that fall is just around the corner - in September it will cool down enough to need jackets at night! I’ve always lived in the desert with relentless summers, so can’t wait for FOUR seasons!

I LOVE having a hubby that can fix anything and everything. Funny about your A/C. Our upstairs unit went out. Hubby had been pretty busy at work and some other projects around the house and didn’t feel like really digging into it, so he told me to call the repair guy. Hubby had looked at it for about 15 minutes, took his meter out there and whatnot and said it was his guess it was either the capacitor or the whole compressor needed to be replaced. Turns out it was the capacitor, you can buy a new one for $20. A/C guy charged $80 for the house call and $70 for the part. Hubby was ticked he didn’t just do it himself. Taught him a lesson I think. LOL.

Wish we had 4 seasons. We have 2, probably similar to where you were in Cali; cool and hot. Both of us are 4th gen Floridians, but I hate the heat.

There is plenty of precedent. In fact they called it the “Great Depression”.

No kidding! Way too poor here. I can’t give change for your gold brick, nor can I eat the thing. Might be willing to trade off a can of food for ammo or some other handy item, tho.

And there is Selco’s Blog a Bosnian War survivor at:

That's it, Selco, not Stefan as I had recalled right off the top of my head.

I should have worn a hat instead!

And, of course, for buying Fiats. Personally, I'd rather have a Yugo.
