I think it is coming. I am getting ready spiritually and also physically. In the Bible, Joseph saw the famine coming and filled up the barns and storehouses of Egypt. It is the prudent thing to do.
So the same stuff they said was going to happen in (insert month here) for the past 7 years?

Selco covers this in this article many times people just can not except that a breakdown is occurring even as they watch it happening before their eyes. Why don’t they realize it? It’s caused by a condition called ‘Normalcy Bias’ a mental state people enter when facing a disaster.
It causes people to underestimate both the possibility of a disaster occurring and its possible effects. This often results in situations where people fail to adequately prepare for a disaster, and on a larger scale, the failure of governments to include the populace in its disaster preparations. The assumption that is made in the case of the normalcy bias is that since a disaster never has occurred then it never will occur. It also results in the inability of people to cope with a disaster once it occurs. People with a normalcy bias have difficulties reacting to something they have not experienced before. People also tend to interpret warnings in the most optimistic way possible, seizing on any ambiguities to infer a less serious situation.

You either prepare and stand on your own beholden to no one or you become dependent on others to provide your basic needs and become their ‘serf’. Me I don’t want to be beholden to anyone for providing what is needed for me and mine. I certainly don’t want to have to kiss some ‘gubberment’ third class bureaucratic to try and coax some help from them, I don’t want some ‘jack booted’ thug herding me in line and telling me where to stand, sit, eat or sleep. And last but not least I don’t want to be shut up in with a bunch of ‘zombies’ and have to worry about not only trying to get basic necessities but having to fight to keep what I manage to get.

For those of you who haven’t started already it’s time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, cash (I myself have been putting up change for the past few years both for the metal content and the fact that using change places to make what purchases you can will move you down the the list of possible marks during shtf), tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.
As the LDS say “When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.”

Make provisions for lots of clean water. The body has a built in cooling system, but it requires bathing to keep the stink down. ... Don’t want the ferals smelling you before you get a few well placed rounds off.

Got clean water covered. When I work outside I don’t sweat. My mom was the same way. We just get bright red and overheat. No AC is going to be a misery.

Cross ventilation and windows that open at the top. To let the heat out.
A wet washcloth, squoze out and laid across the back of your neck.

Even without the Shmetiah cycle - the warnings are growing from other sources and areas.
Your manual is excellent, thank you, and I urge everyone to download it.
HOWEVER, it lacks guidance on how to prepare for an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP). Based on everything we are seeing now, it appears even a pipsqueak nation like North Korea could build an effective EMP device. They also have missiles that could deliver it (accuracy would not really matter). Iran is close as well, if not already there.
So... Since these nations won’t be deterred by potential retaliation, it might make sense to include something on how to build an effective Faraday Cage. A metal trash can with a few simple modifications will do for starters, and it’s actually not very hard.
Even if all you protect are a few rechargeable batteries w/charger, a radio, flashlights, an old laptop computer or tablet, and a small roll-up solar system, you will have saved some very useful electronics that you will be able to continue to use for a long time. (Add a memory stick and you may still be able to read Kartographer’s manual even though you forgot to print it out!)

I my experience the ‘grasshoppers’ will be as bad as the ‘urban zombies’ in a SHTF situation. They will burn with revenge because they were wrong and you was right and the damn well aren’t going to want to let you get by with that!

I don’t get rid of body heat either, just get hotter and hotter, turn red, and faint if I don’t sit down and get cool.
When without power after hurricane, I have those little fans connected to a water bottle and spray the water on face and arms with the fans on and that cools the ambient air by 10 degrees. I stay cool using these little fans on the water bottle. At night, I have battery fans and that allows me to sleep without air conditioning.
