If your Primary or Caucus were being held TODAY and you could only vote for either TED CRUZ or DONALD TRUMP, but not both, and nobody else, who do you vote for and why?

Cruz
I can’t help thinking that the only reason Cruz is so low in the polls is that a lot of his supporters are going for Trump temporarily but will revert to Cruz when Trump drops out. I think they have a deal. I hope they have a deal. I’ll vote for Trump or Cruz but Cruz is my first choice.

Why would I vote for a poseur, Trump, over the real conservative, Cruz?

Cruz. But I’d prefer Walker.

Concur. Ted Cruz. The best and the brightest of the lot. He needs to appeal to both the reason and emotion of the voters. And speak directly to the blacks to free them from their democrat enslavement. Use a reasoned and emotional argument here. It is the moral and just thing to do. And it is way past time.

If Trump can get that high on words, then there's no reason that Cruz cannot either.

Not true. Trump is a well known worldwide brand. And worth billions. Half of corporate America and the media have to deal with him regularly, whether at his golf course, hotel, etc.

The media is unable to define Trump. America already knows him. This is what America expects Trump to say.

Cruz, on the other hand, would get killed by the media. He is unknown, outside of politics, and doesn't have the experience or charm to pull off the incoming hits.

He'd make a perfect Supreme Court justice, however.

Exactly. Cruz has a voting record. Trump has taken different positions on issues over the past years. It’s not hard to figure out what to say to get the conservatives fired up. But he has no voting record. I can’t believe anyone is seriously thinking of voting for this guy.

The only clear choice for me is Cruz.

If Ted Cruz were leading the Republicans at 28% in the polls instead of Donald Trump, it’s doubtful Mitch McConnell would still be wielding his power so arrogantly against Ted and his fellow Senate Conservatives.

If Ted were ahead in the polls, it’s likely that more Republican Senators would be supporting his proposals, such as to defund Planned Parenthood, since no one would want to get on the wrong side of a likely future president.

Good things would be happening if Ted were ahead in the polls. Donald Trump has already done good things by bringing attention to serious issues, but if he continues to take all the oxygen out of the air, especially at Ted’s expense, that won’t be a good thing.

Ditto on steroids!!!!!!!!!

TRUMP for me!......and for those reasons.....he’s resonating to the public like nobody’s business....!!!!

I also pray for him.......for safety!
‘They’ hate him.....the MSM, the Democrats, the Repubs......the elites

They must think he’s sincere, whether some of you at FR do or not.
They’re afraid of him......he wants to take away all their marbles and give them back to us!!!!

GO TRUMP!

Cruze. I keep hanging the phone up on the GOP because the money I have to donate is going to Cruze. Please God let it not be a choice between Trump and Jeb or someone like Jeb!! In that case it would be Trump. Cruze would be better president and he has a solid grip on the constitution and values that made thus America.

I understand what you mean. I do fear that Cruz COULD be the ‘64 Goldwater of 2016, but I think he also could catch fire. Trump is ... he’s serving a purpose to a degree, and I’d vote for him over any Democrat running, but he’s a buffoon. He’d sell out conservatism anytime it suited his “brand.”

Cruz. The only candidate who believes in the Constitution. Hopefully, a worthy successor to Reagan (admired, but flawed in some respects).

Love what the Donald is doing to shake up the GOPe, but his past positions, giving money to Dems and basically talking out of both sides of his mouth still trouble me.

Cruz, on the other hand, is about as consistent a conservative as you can get. I’d go with him hands down.
