But, when we get to heaven, I do believe GOD will be holding classes on all that very, very interesting info.
I can hardly wait.
“And that’s ONE PLANET in the entire cosmos that we’ve been able to observe.”
Actually there are hundreds of candidates. This is just the first one that has had specific attention. There are many, many others.
“Candidates.” That’s all. I’ll believe it when I see their spaceship double-parked outside Starbucks.
“Ill believe it when I see their spaceship double-parked outside Starbucks.”
In other words, you have unrealistic expectations. No sense in discussing such things with the mind of a child.
Yeah, one of us does. I'm not sure it's ME ...

Aw, don't be so hard on yourself.

This is the winner of my dumbest statement of the week award.
Thanks, please play again Huff(what, glue?)po.

So, if life came about by happenstance, then shouldn't it be abundant throughout the entire universe? In fact, wouldn't it be extremely difficult to find someplace out there that is completely devoid of any traces of past or current life?
We don’t know the conditions in which life started so we can only speculate on how common it is.
There are pretty much only two possibilities: either random happenstance, or God. If it's the former, then it should be happening all over the place. If it's the latter, then... well, we're all alone (except of course for God).
If it is by random happenstance it could happenstance very rarely and in very specific circumstances. If God did it, he/she could very well have created life in many places in this Universe.
True. One might roll snake eyes with the dice 100 times in a row... that's possible indeed. But... it's not very likely.
I think that if luck created a spark of life on Earth and it permeated every nook and cranny on Earth, then sparks should be happening in some other places, and spreading there as well.
I'm all for looking everywhere we can... it's all interesting stuff. But, so far zilch...no signs of anything anywhere at all.
Imagine a probe that lands, melts a hole 25 miles deep for an underwater submersible that can send data back to it's parent on the surface, and then relay what it finds back to Earth.
ALL THESE WORLDS ARE YOURSEXCEPT EUROPA / ATTEMPT NO LANDING THERE
We’ve come a long way in terms of technology and exploration of space in the last 100 years. Hopefully we’ll keep exploring.
