Simple question, really..do you have a few faves that were either very funny, or really got their message across, or just made you feel good? There have been many great ones over the decades

Hopefully, you'll post the links to them from YouTube..

NOTE: The FIRST person who pompously replies that "I don't watch TV" can go pound sand AND suck an egg.

And if you're so inclined, and have a nominee, tell us your pick for the WORST commercial. There are so many of those too, but they are so very forgettable..

Here's my top picks:

Noxema "take it off, take it all off" Gawd damn, but Gunilla was drop-dead GORGEOUS

Coke: "I'd like to teach the world to sing.." Man, back then EVERYONE was humming that tune

ANY Oscar Meyer commercial the bologna song or "I wish I were an Oscar Meyer wiener"

American Tourister gorilla ad Brilliant!

FedEx fast talking guy They were all a hoot

Any of the "lying Joe Isuzu ads They were hilarious

You'll notice most of these are, well, old....but the best of the current crop is without a doubt, the GEICO "hump day" with the camel had people talking for months. And I was already sick of the gecko

There was one more on my list...with the Hoffman Soda jingle..."The prettiest girl, I ever saw, was sipping Hoffman, right through a straw"..but I can't find it.

As far as my picks for the worst commercials...well.. Any PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE one..I absolutely can't stand that girl..

And to think that Don Draper came up with it.

I always liked the Jack-in-the Box commercial where
he has a chart of various cuts of beef and is asking
the room if anyone can point to the “Angus”.

Talking about drop-dead gorgeous, a local Washington, DC commercial back in the 70’s - Ouirsman Chevrolet - drop-dead gorgeous blonde saying you get your way at Ouirsman Chevrolet.

Pretty hard to beat the original “tastes great - less filling” series IMO.

Best: Apple's "1984" ad introducing the Macintosh" - Directed by Ridley Scott (_Alien_, _Blade Runner_, _Gladiator_, etc), aired twice (once during Super Bowl, once late-night because some award required at least two showings), broadly deemed the best ad of all time.

Worst: E*trade's "we just wasted 2 million bucks" ad - Nothing discourages potential customers more than saying you're incompetent with money and proving it.

I loved the recent ad for an I-phone---

The dad leaves for work and gives the little girl his I-phone---she's got a lemonade stand in the driveway.

When dad comes home, she has a thriving lemonade business, greeted by her 10-year old secretary wanting to know if she was expecting him

......everything she needed to know to incorporate and pyramid sales was on the I-phone.

That Wendys commercial was great!

Those really old Desoto commercials with Groucho were cool...mainly because it was Groucho.
