The first birth using a uterus transplant (LINK) already happened --- last year.

The "birth-mother" in this case --- or I guess the term is "gestational carrier" --- was a female. but there's no reason why that would be necessary. Just get a surgeon to shove some of your abdominal organs over enough to crea3t a little space for a uterus (you can probably get one cheap in Guatemala); hook it into veins and arteries; get the pregnancy hormones going: voila, you could have a pregnant man.

By a rather different route, it's already been done by trans-men. This one, Thomas Beattie, had three babies already.

A Woman pretending to be a man is much different than a man becoming pregnant and carrying a child- there’s a lot to carrying a child, men are not capable of it

I’m sorry=- it appears he is a ‘man’ (sort of) however he was born with a fully functioning uterus and a system needed to supply what the growing child needed- He is a ‘freak of nature’ - I’ve lost the link now, but there was a science article talking about whether it was possible for a man to have a child- technically, yes, however, there are severe problems with a man carrying- something to do with placental attachments, and hemorrhaging or something- and the child not getting proper nutrients or something- I’ll see if I can find it again-

Oh, you're right. "He" is actually a "she" and was born with a uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, etc. --- now a bearded, breastless, hairy-chested trans man, as they say --- but pregnant, or rather, now, the mother of three...

I just put that in to show that people will clamor for re-engineering and retrofitting to freakify themselves any way they want, and unethical cut-and-paste enthusiasts, known as surgeons, will make it happen, to the best of their worst ability, if there's money in it for them.

We've already had way-post-menopausal women in their 60's being impregnated and giving birth. We've had women with transplanted uteruses from other women. Transplanted ovaries, too. And of course IVF transplanted children.

So I expect the next step --- Mr. Womb-man--- in about 15 minutes.

The commodification of everyone. In 20 years you won't be able to tell the humans from the robots, because the leaders of society will be half-and-half.

I understand what you’re saying here, and it IS different. It’s profoundly undesirable. It’s most definitely sub-optimal. But I don’t think it’s impossible. I expect we’ll see it first on Drudge in 2016.

Exactly. Thanks for capturing the absurdity in a single allusion.

like the article I read (I think it was in scientific American or something like that), it is possible, and once all the complications are worked out, it’s theoretically possible and will likely happen soon-

[[We’ve already had way-post-menopausal women in their 60’s being impregnated and giving birth.]]

That is really something- I might say that people are living to older ages on average now, maybe that has something to do with the ability to conceive to later ages- however, girls are supposedly maturing earlier, (likely due to hormones in practically everything we eat now) so I would think that would counter the older age average/ older age pregnancy- but who knows- it’s all complicated-

[[The commodification of everyone.]]

Yeah, that article I read had one comment after another of ‘men’ who ‘always hoped they could get pregnant’ and described how they would ‘put pillows under their shirts’ to ‘feel like they were pregnant’

Ugggh- We’re becoming sicker and sicker as a society-

Sounds a lot like George Orwell’s 1984. In fact, much of what is going on today has scary parallels to 1984.

George Orwell was a prophet.

Not a prophet, but a futurist in the know.
