If machines do everything, aren't people redundant? What do humans do besides take up valuable space and consume resources and generate waste. Humans are so old school and need to be replaced.

People are here to enjoy God’s creation. And create things that help us better appreciate the Universe and each other.

“Work” for survival and self-identity only became a concept when we ran out of room in our initial homes.

We now may have reached the point of no return after hundreds of millenia. Either go straight and take off into the heavens OR crash in a fireball...

“...people had all the free time to innovate ...”

Exactly what HAS happened with the industrial age. Most any nation on the Earth could right now provide all their population’s *needs* at practically zero cost.

What has come of this situation? Well, not Utopia! Nor the end of the marketplace.

Though humor, there is an underlying reality to the story

High school grads have pretty much no marketable skills and there are no factories that will hire you when you walk in off the street (shades of the 50's, 60's and 70's), places that you can learn valuable life skills even if you're only a widget counter ... (honesty, integrity, punctuality, legitimate self satisfaction .. etc.)

so they enter young adulthood hoping for a magical machine that really WOULD do something to give them purpose in life ...

Enter, stage left ... Satan, sex, drugs and alcohol

At the time this occurs, Globalist will decide to drastically reduce the population. Since they have probably figured out that working it from the death-side leads to unrest and overthrow, they will likely work it from the birth-side. Expect mysterious fertility problems to emerge.

The remaining humans permitted to be born will be so heavily augmented by technology that they will likely be drones, scarcely definable as humans.

I suspect God pulls the curtain down slightly before this all comes to pass.

Robotics in manufacturing replaces human labor.

Labor is s small part of manufacturing, maybe 6-8% of the total PER UNIT price. So How is a car going to cost 10 cents? What a joke.
