Oregon imposes gag order on Christian bakers in gay wedding case
Canada Free Press ^ | 07/03/15 | Dan Calabrese

Aaron and Melissa Klein ordered not to talk publicly about their faith.

I don’t know if you’ve followed the case of Sweet Cakes by Melissa. This is the now-closed bakery in Oregon that has become a target of state officials because its Christian owners declined to bake a cake for a lesbian wedding.

Not only has the business been forced to close, the state has fined the Kleins $135,000. But it gets worse. Much worse. Now that state has responded to a radio interview the Kleins gave by ordering them to no longer talk publicly about why their faith compels them to decline such business.

We’ve been telling you for some time now that this gay wedding business is little more than a cover for Fascism. Some of you thought that was way overblown. Can you still doubt it after this?

In the ruling, Avakian placed an effective gag order on the Kleins, ordering them to “cease and desist” from speaking publicly about not wanting to bake cakes for same-sex weddings based on their Christian beliefs.

"...fleeing the United States in order to find religious freedom.” Who would have ever thought that this is even a thought?

Not a surprise! The American people lack the ability to discern what we face.

It is a big country. Leave Oregon and live somewhere people are relatively normal. Besides, with the new recreation weed laws, it won’t be safe to be on the roads in that liberal cesspool.

From what I understand - it wasn’t a “judge” who sent out this decree. It was the labor commissioner. How messed up is that? He’s all Twittering about how wonderful it is, too.

Buchanan was mocked mercilessly, and by Republicans as well. I thought his convention speech was magnificent. It received a great reception... and then the Left mocked and ridiculed and, right on cue, the RINOs joined in and distanced themselves from Buchanan. And, here we are.

Leave Oregon and live somewhere people are relatively normal.

All they have to do is cross the Cascades to the east, where they'll find plenty of sympathy (and patriots ready to defend them as someone else mentioned) in eastern Oregon.

Sounds great and it is good advice too. People are going to have to find areas in this country where like minded individuals live. Move yourself and your family to these areas and prepare for the inevitable.

Eventually, the foundation made of sand will crumble and you don’t want to be there when it happens.

Actually they’ve said they will stay and fight, a decision for which they should be applauded. The major contributing factor to the decline of societal valued and the culture is the failure of good people to stand and fight when the leftists first started chipping away. To reverse the tide at this point will require people of courage who are willing to risk all, yet will fight to the end.

Consider in the article, the labor commissioner issued a gag order even the administrative judge was not willing to entertain. Why? Either he wanted to show the bakers the overwhelming power of the state or he is getting tremendous flack from the public and wants to shut up the bakers to end the pressure. Whichever the reason, the fight needs to be pressed. All moving away does is empower the leftist tyranny to declare victory and move on to another restriction on liberty.

No way the tyrannical government will let these people leave the state peacefully anyway. It will seize their assets, $130,000 is a significant sum for these folks. Likely if they go somewhere else to start a business, leftists groups will hunt them down and continue to hound them and find a way to use the media and the state to destroy them.

Win or lose this couple has decided to oppose tyranny and stand for their rights. Will others stand with them in the battle or will the public go home to watch Dancing with the Stars? The answer to this question will tell you the ultimate fate of the Republic.

That's not the way I read the order. It reads to me like the recipients are forbidden from asserting publicly that they will continue to refuse service to queers in their present business or any other.

Not that that's a whole lot better. In fact, it's still a gross violation of free speech, and as such, virtually unenforceable.

I would make it a point to violate the order as publicly as possible and then dare the fag enforcers to do their worst. And woe unto them if I won, because the fines for discriminating against the gash-lappers would be paid using the money I won from the resultant civil-rights lawsuit.

Does an order from a labor commissioner carry any weight of law?

Sounds like the bakers are in need of some competent legal counsel.

One thing you learn in life is to pick your battles. That involves a lot of things not the least of which is know the terrain, prepare and then strike when the time is right.

Now, it is great to stand up for what you believe in and defend that right. Since I don’t watch TV much, I can’t relate to the Dancing Stars thing. But, I have had my fights against tyranny. Some I did pretty well with and others, in my youth, I hadn’t learned how to prepare and I lost miserably.

One thing you have to be is smart and think your way through it all. You don’t walk into a Lion’s den carrying red meat and expect to come out in one piece.

Have a great 4th of July!!

Flee to Canada like the draft dodgers of old, take your money, refuse to pay a dime, and speak out from Canada, daring the judge to do something about it.

Canada is worse than the U.S. It's where this leftwing state got its ideas from. Canada has jailed preachers for reading the Bible verses against homosexuality, and nearly drove Mark Steyn insane with their evil "Human Rights commission."

They need to tell their customers they are a bakery, that’s all they do. If their customers want decorations, they need to consult a cake decorator.

You are entirely behind the curve on this. No one asked them to write a slogan on the cake. And they were forced to give up their bakery over a year ago. Do not think for one moment that the gay activists have not already thought out every move and prepared to block it. With the full support of the leftwing DOJ.

This is such BS! Why isn’t a religious institution supporting them? Say the Catholic Church? How can we support them and beat back this tyranny?

The CC already boinked itself right out of any spare change and is paying off massive lawsuits from gay child abuse and cover-ups. Ironic.

The unfaithful fear the truth.

Matthew 7:3 Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14 For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

You're not getting it. All a bakery need do is bake cakes. There is no need to even discuss the occasion the cake is for. Obviously, since this ridiculous legal battle began over refusal to bake a "gay wedding cake," some discussion of the occasion must have gone on.

A baker need only say: these are the kinds of cakes we make. Chocolate, vanilla, banana. One, two or three levels.

Period. That's it. What you use our cakes for is up to you.

You would think so, but I wonder. You are right that those that do will be deemed extremists and cooks.
