Southern Baptists don’t hesitate to speak out on public policy as you know. They could just as easily advocate that it is time for government to be stripped of power to define and regulate marriage as they could advocate that government should approve of same-sex marriage.
Or they could sit on their hands in silence. But they never do, or else we would not for example have “dry” counties in some states. In fact, this branch of Christianity has so much political influence that economists speak of “bootleggers and Baptists” coming to have common policy agreements.

It wasn't long ago President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton was forcefully opposed to gay marriage, as were members of the Supreme Court. When you can't trust the government, who can you trust.

Which just proves this whole movement and debauchery is straight out of hell. As a Catholic I say good for you, SB. This is why I say the in-fighting amongst Christians needs to stop. Christians are under attack in all sorts of ways and we must stand together against the evil in this world.
Yeah a little off topic but I have to say having dry counties is pointless. For one, it’s not a sin to drink alcohol, it’s a sin to get drunk. I live in a” dry” county, and beer bottles line the sides of the road, especially on weekends. Every county around us is “wet,” so all we’re doing is losing tax revenue.
Just a little history with the military on that law.
Bases close to the border kept the 18 age to prevent the service members from driving across to get a beer.
A stupid conundrum that happened to the US was our founders right to enlist at 18, Nixon’s right to vote at 18 and Reagan’s right to drink at 21.
Of course with “Common Core” the right to walk around by yourself should be 32.
