If you've been a watcher of the show since the beginning, you know that if they don't show the person being killed, they're not always dead. We never saw Stannis executed by Brienne. It was implied.
That said, I think Brienne has a vested interest in keeping Stannis alive, and I think he'll be back. She's running short on friends. Jaime is heading back to a dubious Red Keep after, presumably, losing Myrcella. Sansa and Theon escaped Winterfell. Aside from Paudrick, she has no real allies left in the world. Stannis would make one Hell of an ally.
Danaerys is going to have her hands full with the Dothraki. Remember her other two dragons are chained up in Mereen, so I'm not sure she's going to be able to pull out any tricks to dazzle the Dothraki who likely remember her as the Khaleesi who wouldn't leave Khal Drogo. We shall see.
Not BBQ’d. Burned at the stake as a sacrifice. Worked for Agamemnon. Didn’t work for Stannis.
Indeed she did. I’m running out of characters to emphatize with, but even the worst of themare coming to overly gruesome fates.
It could be since the series has diverged so far from the books. As I recall, no such vengeance transpired in the books.
What I would really like to see is Jamie Lannister turn his boat around and carry Myrcella's body onto shore and lay it at Elliria's feet...then lop off Elliria's head.
He SAW the kiss. He can't be that stupid.
I can't wait to see how that miracle transpire's. Even if there was a decent amount of snow down there (the incoming horses seemed to have no problems) it is still at least a 100 ft. drop. Two broken legs or a broken back is what they SHOULD have received, at the least, after such a stupid jump.
I read something online recently that said a sufficient snow drift could easily cushion a high fall. Some idiot jumped off a second story balcony into a snow drift in Michigan and escaped unscathed. But I agree, the walls of Winterfell seemed much higher than 2 stories.
Aye, therein lies the rub? At that height? Sufficient? Who can say. But to my eye, the snow at the bottom of that drop didn't look sufficiently deep or 'fluffy' to make such a jump safe. But I suppose we'll get an answer in about 8 months.
Me? I'd have climbed down slowly using any handhold available. THEN if you drop, you're somewhat lower to the ground.
Having not grown up or ever been around snow, I can’t speak for the effect of light pack snow. I only know what the Internet tells me.
You are one of the lucky ones.
I've been living in New England for 50 years and have just about had my fill of the crap. Especially after this last Winter. It is only marginally more tolerable than the politics.
I'm settin' my sights on Tennessee.
Sounds good to me. She is evil, yet she appears to have gotten off from the Sparrow by her lying. She is one PO’d woman, and she will get vengeance, I believe.
I’ve gone off Thrones. They killed my man. The Lord Commander -prettier than many men’s daughters- Jon freaking Snow.
There’s no forgiveness for that. Not to mention nobody else to really root for. I do like Brienne and Tyrion but....I wanted the dark, brooding, courageous hero to triumph.
They did not show it but Stannis eats it.
Its good and really not too far off from the dark age.
Game of Thrones, IMHO, was childishly written.
An outstanding series on HBO is Sr. Avila.
Just finished watching all of Season 2. It’s imperative to watch each episode in sequence, but the last 2 episodes place Sr Avila arms and legs above its counterparts.
Combine the Godfather trilogy, Sopranos, Casino, and Goodfellas, and Ray Donovan together in a Latin setting, and you might begin to see the world of Sr Avila.
Granted it is is Spanish and well subtitled, the themes and possible storylnes are much more mature than anything north of the border.
Strongly recommended. Warning, very graphic and nudity and violence is present.
