One has to hand it to the now concluded fifth season of “Game of Thrones.” The season has not stinted on the carnage and the horror. From the rape of Sansa to the ritual barbecuing of Stannis’ little girl, life in Westeros and environs has proven to be very grim indeed, for the highest to the lowest. The atrocities in the final episode “Mother’s Mercy,” which aired Sunday, will set a high bar for season six, no question.

Tried to get into it, but it had ZERO redeeming characters. Didn’t care about them at all.
Sansa wasn’t raped, she just submitted to her husband. However, I thought the lack of foreplay to be somewhat disturbing. ;-P

I didn't find out until almost a year into my marriage. It involves the wife going out shopping before sex. Something like that.
My first thought was that this confirmed that Stannis will not sit on the Iron Throne. I believe it will be Daenerys Targaryen in the end. She has air superiority in any battle. I hope she gets those other two dragons out of the 'hangar' and into regular service. She'll need them.
I stuck with SOA for all 7 seasons, but I never let my kids near it. The final season was tough to watch, but I liked the way Kurt Sutter wrapped it up in the finale.
Well there wasn't any BBQ sauce and they didn't eat her... not like Walking Dead... more like Joan of Arc.
