Look up the difference between “tactical nuclear warfare” and “strategic nuclear warfare”...You may learn something...
I will do.
Ok I looked it up and learned a lot. Thanks
1. When people say (as I’ve heard hear and elsewhere dozens of times) “turn the whole region into molten glass” I don’t think they mean tactical weapons as that wouldn’t do the trick.
2. It’s also not very strategic. This is from what I read. “Use of tactical nuclear weapons against similarly-armed opponents carries a significant danger of quickly escalating the conflict beyond anticipated boundaries, from the tactical to the strategic The existence and deployment of small, low-yield tactical nuclear warheads could be a dangerous encouragement to forward-basing and pre-emptive nuclear warfare ... “ So my point about escalation is validated see 3 below
3. Especially if you add in the unknowns like Russia and or China retaliating to gain an advantage using humanitarian reasons as cover.
4. I quite understand the frustration that leads to the “nuke them to the stone age” sentiment ... I get very frustrated too. After that quick surge of retaliatory fantasy one has to look at the cold hard realities. It’s just not practical. Muslims are over 1/4 of the world’s population and are spread over a vast swath of the earth. It would take world war (and nearly everyone on the planet else on our side) to take them all on.
