Ireland has become the first-ever country to approve same-sex marriage by referendum, voting overwhelmingly to approve it despite opposition from clergy in the heavily Catholic nation, according to official results announced today.

I believe it’s the product of socialism, which is prevalent in Europe and is rapidly taking over in the US.

Years ago, on a tour of Italy, it was surprising to see so many churches with only a few pews. The tour guide explained that while Italy is largely Catholic, few people really attend church. So the churches are used as museums.

People might say they are Catholic, they might even attend church regularly, but they don’t practice the basics of their faith.
