Gee, I wonder why this would happen? Don’t expect this to get better anytime soon.
BALTIMORE – Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake called the city’s recent spike in violence “disheartening” Thursday as police work to address a dramatic increase in homicides and nonfatal shootings.
“It’s extremely frustrating,” the mayor told reporters at a news conference. “It is disheartening, but I am still resolved to continue to reduce violent crime in our city.”
Rawlings-Blake said the city’s faced spikes in crimes in the past and police have been able to successfully reverse them. She said she’s “confident” police do so will again.
The city’s had 98 homicides so far this year, which is 42 percent higher than over the same period in 2014. Nonfatal shootings are up more than 70 percent with at least 19 people shot on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Who really cares anyway? As long as all the victims are criminals I don’t even think they should count among crime statistics. Just let one half of the criminals kill the other half.

But seriously, that guy very clearly should have been buckled up and not been allowed to die in their care. I wonder if the incitement of all six people is to sweat out exactly whom is responsible, and then plea that down to something reasonable. What percentage of the “blue flu” is over the original incident/indictment and how much is for the mayor not allowing the police to protect life (including their own) and property during the riot? Certainly the police would admit (off camera, no doubt) that SOMEONE is responsible.

Good point. The more these - ahem - Communities of Color descend into the chaos that the Democratic Party prepared for them the better it is for us. Let them burn their own homes down and slaughter their own natural leaders. How in the world does that hurt guys like me? I really don’t get the whole Democrat plan. Sure, they’ll score a few near-term political points by stirring up all this racial hatred, but they couldn’t seriously think it will work in the long run, could they? I mean, if (God forbid) it comes down to a racial war there’s no question who will win and who will lose. Fact is, once those mean old gods of war are awakened, the other side will be gone-baby-gone in very short order. How could they even think that’s a good plan for them? Weird. They must be completely deluded.
Police departments can choose from two basic policies. Try to nip crime in the bud before a perp does something really bad; or simply come in and clean up the mess after the bad perps do what they want to do. Baltimore is now stuck with the second option, whether they like it or not.
