The Rise of Democracy, and the Fall of the Electoral College

The progressive era, fueled by the Fabians, worked to take away more of the voice of the States, and move America towards pure democracy

James Madison wrote five times in his essays of the Federalist Papers that we are a republic, and then explained what a republic is. He believed this to be necessary not only so that the Constitution may be properly understood, but because in their argument against the Constitution, the statists of the era were trying to convince the people that a republic, and a democracy, are the same thing. Democracy, in reality, is a transitional form of government, one that would lead America from being a republic, to an oppressive oligarchy, argued many of the Founding Fathers. We must never be a democracy.

We are not a democracy, and we were never intended to be a democracy. The Framers of the Constitution, and those that supported the Constitution, warned against the United States being a democracy, and put mechanisms in the Constitution to protect us from becoming a democracy.

Every time I hear some talking d***head or idiot politician refer to the U.S. as a democracy I want to reach out through the ether and rip their tongue out.

James Madison wrote five times in his essays of the Federalist Papers

The progressive movement does not acknowledge the Federalist Papers or the constitutional limits on legislation.

The founders acknowledged that electing a person to power would unleash his ambitions. They wrote the Constitution to limit his power to fulfill his ambitions.

The Progressive Socialist Movement proffers the notion that man has improved since the founders checked ambitions by limiting government powers over the citizens. They believe there is no need to limit government powers because man can be trusted to check his ambitions on his own.

People who accept that will believe all manner of nonsense.

Democracy= majority rule. ie: two wolves and a sheep deciding on a dinner menu.

Which will mean that three or four cities will control who is elected president (NYC, LA, Chicago, Philly) where the D candidate will get 105% of the vote.

It is the logical next step after they got the 17th amendment passed. They want the states to be neutered, especially red ones.

Exactly ..!!!!

The last thing America needs is MOB RULE .. we’re already on that path, if we don’t stand up and fight against it.

We are not too far removed from that even with the EC. The election is pretty much decided by the aforementioned cities and the three Cs’s in Ohio, the DC area of Washington and a couple of large cities in FL. and CO.

Every state that has a republican governor and legislature should change the EC selection to congressional districts.

This is a well written and cogent essay.

As regards your comment. I think realistically we are already there. While the chaos of mob violence is in early, but evolving stages, we are certainly being ruled right now by the mob of progressives and their acolytes the Great Unwashed.
