Given the below and you were asked to place a "&" 'just prior' to the word 'because' there is ONLY ONE acceptable place to put it. Since you don't understand, I will insert it for you.
"When is just prior? During sideline setup? As the teams come out for warmups? After warmups and before the teams come out of the tunnel? Sorry theres just no precision there. And with the ball boys in the pay of the teams that matters, &because thats what determines the window for breaking the rule. Which, again, is where the tweak came in. By switching to league employed ball boys there is no window."
“(why in blazes do the balls go to team employees after ref inspection).”
Because the refs didn’t follow Rule 2, Section 1, Paragraph 3.
Of course then you’ve got guys hauling out ball bags during the drama and fun of team intros, which kind of kills the mood. They probably went out during sideline setup, with the medical cart and the drinks and such, and were probably turned over to the ball boys employed by the teams before then.
That’s been the big mistake of the whole thing, which they fixed for the SB. Who pays the ball boys.
Let’s see the emails and text messages, Hillary Brady.
Yes they did. They gave the balls to the attendants. Who were team employees until the SB. That’s what the rule said to do, and that’s what they did.
“Yes they did. They gave the balls to the attendants. Who were team employees until the SB. Thats what the rule said to do, and thats what they did.”
What! The rule says ‘just prior’!
The refs left the balls in the Colt’s game unsupervised for over three hours! That’s what they did and That’s against the rules.

No. You can haul the balls out to the sidelines earlier. You just have to have the referee keep them under supervision.
They gave the balls to the attendants. That’s the rule. Now their definition of “just prior” and your definition might be different. But they followed the rule, and showed the rule was flawed. We see from the Vikes-Panthers game (both teams aimed sideline heaters into the ball bags) that putting the balls in control of team employees at ANY POINT is a mistake. The league didn’t bother to learn from that mistake until the Superbowl, where they changed who pays the ball boys.
Which was the tweak for the SB. By replacing team ball boys with league ball boys the balls were under supervision for the whole game.

1. I don’t think three hours classifies as just prior.
2. They didn’t give them to the ball boys. They just left them unsupervised.
The rule is fine. The ref’s were flawed.
The rule is bad, and the refs screwed up. There’s simply no reason to ever put the balls under control of team employees, even on the sideline.
“Which was the tweak for the SB. By replacing team ball boys with league ball boys the balls were under supervision for the whole game.”
If that is what happened, then that is against the rules. The rule say under the supervision of the Referee.
“The rule is bad, and the refs screwed up. Theres simply no reason to ever put the balls under control of team employees, even on the sideline.”
What about during the game. The center or running back could have a ‘deflator’.
Which would be pretty obvious when they’ve got dozens of cameras aimed at them. Not to mention kind of hazardous for them to be messing with the ball while 11 guys are trying to tackle them.
Until the hand off to the ball attendants.
This is my shocked face
GOT CAUGHT
now pay the consequences
coach owner and qb
A defendant is now innocent until proven incapable of financing an adequate defense.
Your description of ref ball handling is how it’s done in Division III football. If the folks at level have figured it out, you would think the NFL could.
So don’t give a damn about deflategate.
I think it’s all horsecrap.
The biggest MARY moment was Mark Brunell(on ESPN) crying over it. That still cracks me up!
