Vatican rewriting American Founding Father History
Canada Free Press ^ | 05/04/15 | Judi Mcleod

It is well past time for the Vatican to yank Pope Francis from the classroom of Obama the Professor and to force him back into the Classroom of Christ, the Classroom of Saving Souls

In an upside-down world where revisionists get to do the rewriting of history and truth, it seems that the ‘Star Pupil’ in the wicked classroom of President Barack Obama is none other than Pope Francis.

This is the worldwide image of Pope Francis over the Internet. And if that image is the wrong one, then neither the Pope nor the Vatican is doing anything to try to change it. Something more than passing strange given that Obama is the world’s chief champion of abortion, including partial birth abortion.

Obama and Pope Francis, currently the world’s two biggest pushers of social justice, the professor and his star-struck student are throwing in on climate change replacing commonsense and science with propaganda.

Mind your business Pope. Worry about your flock more than how my country was founded.

No no, I've been schooled by certain Freepers. Father Serra actually launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund General Washington's army in 1784. He's as much a Founding Father as Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton.

Do I need a sarcasm tag?

What was going on in present day California during the 1770s and 1780s had next to nothing to do with the American war of independence and the nation’s founding. This pope really needs to get his nose out of politics and into the spiritual needs of Catholics around the world.

I’m born and raised Catholic, and still call myself Catholic, but as of the last 6 months you’ll find me at a different church singing in the choir. No more struggling to understand the words of foreign mumbler Priests.

Everybody else is, why shouldn't the Vatican have a go?

At least the people they insert will be Christian.

(If you have to ask if that is sarcastic go get more coffee. You are about a quart low.)

You probably consider Bl. Father Serra to be an illegal immigrant.

BTW that foreign priest is the Pope. So please make up your mind. Stop confusing people - at this point you are as good a Catholic as Martin Luther. Pick a religion that fits your heresy.

The Founding Fathers backgrounds were varied.

Modern Scribblers can say what they want, it is not that important now.

The important thing, they were united in that undertaking and prevailed against the “established” state.

You can read whatever you want into that statement, but it is what happened.

The Vatican wanted a leftist Marxist priest. They got their wish but they also got themselves a heretic. One has to wonder if this is what they secretly wanted as well.

He is the worst Pope ever.

It ain't just the pope:

"A country that was founded by...Hispanic Catholics...before George Washington was born."
-- from the thread New L.A. Archbishop...Discusses Immigration & Hispanics In Church

"...U.S. history has been primarily taught from a WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant) perspective, and this has more often than not been anti-Catholic, or at the least, silent on the foundation of America as being originally Catholic."
-- from the thread Book Review: Discovering a Lost Heritage: The Catholic Origins of America

"...what the Times didn’t report in its elision of a story, that is, the extraordinary bravery and derringdo of Catholic nuns, nuns who arrived in America more than 300 years ago, when the first Ursuline sisters arrived in New Orleans in 1727, nuns who have stood under a bright light and lifted it higher in this during the country’s darkest hours, nuns who have helped stream forward a rushing river of love that began 2,000 years ago, to paraphrase Saint Bernard de Clairvaux."
-- from the thread How Catholic Nuns Shaped America

"A few days ago (3 May) the Polish people celebrated / honored Our Lady as Queen of Poland. So I was thinking why couldn't we here in our republic of the USA honor her as QUEEN OF AMERICA (Regina Americae) with maybe a feast day of 4 July? (I know that the Immaculate Conception is our country's patroness.) And her holy spouse Saint Joseph would be Dux Americae! "
-- from the thread What About Mary as QUEEN OF AMERICA?

The history books will tell you that the first Thanksgiving was celebrated by the pilgrims in 1621. Not true....the first American Thanksgiving was actually celebrated on September 8, 1565 in St. Augustine, Florida. The Native Americans and Spanish settlers held a feast and the Holy Mass was offered....The Catholic origins of Thanksgiving don’t stop there. Squanto, the beloved hero of Thanksgiving, was the Native American man who mediated between the Puritan Pilgrims and the Native Americans. Squanto had been enslaved by the English but he was freed by Spanish Franciscans. Squanto thus received baptism and became a Catholic. So it was a baptized Catholic Native American who orchestrated what became known as Thanksgiving.

All that being said, Thanksgiving is traditional Protestant and marks the tradition of religious toleration (something in which the Puritan pilgrims did not actually believe - they set up a "theocracy")....
-- from the thread Is “Thanksgiving” Catholic?

"Pope Leo XIII saw problems in American religion and came up with the concept of Americanism, denounced by Testem Benevolentiae Nostrae of 1898. Ironically, Americanism began, not in the United States, but in France when Leo XIII asked Catholics to accept the Republic and not to make too much use of activism and politics.

None of those things have the slightest bit to do with the country that was established by Declaration on July 2nd 1776, with its original government established in March of 1781, nor with its current government established on June 21st, 1788.

Sorry to hurt your feelings. They're tiny -- mostly insignificant -- bits of history that occurred on the North American Continent. That doesn't make them part of American history. The Bishop of Rome was, once again, wrong.

Did the Pope write it, or the Vatican?
If the Pope opined, where was he sitting?

You’ve said some hurtful things to me sir. Since it’s our first communications I’ll have to use that to paint what picture I envision you with.

I don’t know who Father Serra is. Has he illegally entered the USA? I choose not to massage reality in these matters. Illegal has a legal definition and I use it. That is your answer.

And in another reply you insinuated I’m a heretic.

>>BTW that foreign priest is the Pope.

No, it’s Father mli-bldon’t-spmeak-blEngrish-zland-mli-reeedz-mii-slermlon-flumbla-plaper.

The Pope isn’t a foreigner in my country because he is where he belongs. And he probably speaks decent English as well, using proper diction and enunciation.

What would he be an illegal immigrant to?

He never set foot in the United States, and had zero to do with it’s creation.
