What kind of coffee maker do you use?

So this morning, while rinsing out the carafe of my Black & Decker coffee maker, I accidentally banged it against the side of the sink, cracking it. Frustrating, but no big deal. Go to WalMart.com..find out I can buy a replacement for $9.87. But then I noticed that I can buy a whole new machine..INCLUDING carafe..for $17.88. Yup..digital, programmable, auto-brew..with a two hour automatic shut-off. Which got me thinking....

Depending on my mood, one or the other of the following:

I have nothing against coffee machines, but I think coffee is at its best when it's lovingly hand-crafted, a cup at a time.

I buy Tres Rios green beans from Costa Rica and roast my own.

I generally buy from CoffeeBeanCorral.com And have for over 15 years.

Much better coffee in my opinion. I roast a couple of times a week, and grind every morning. Can I ask what vendor you use?

Someone made it for me about 30 years ago. I’ve been drinking it like that ever since. When HC is not available, it’s black for me.

When I did frequent Starbucks, I would ask them for a large half HC and half coffee. They would say, “you mean a vente misto?” I would just stare at them.

Cuisinart programmable with side-by-side hot water dispenser. Perfect for when I want coffee and the Lovely Wife wants tea, or the kids want hot chocolate. Heats the water up pretty fast.

I gnaw coffee trees until they’re felled and then I chew the raw beans. None of that prissy “roasting” stuff for me!!

we’ve had the cuisinart “grind-and brew” model for some years (we are on our second one of them). load up the hopper with your favorite beans and it will automatically grind up just the right amount for the number of cups you are brewing with adjustments for strong, medium, or mild within each range. the insulated stainless caraffe lets you set it right on the table top straight from the machine.

I use a Capresso MT600 machine and I have been buying my green beans from https://www.sweetmarias.com/store/ for about 10 years. They have beans from around the world and buy whatever is best at the cupping contests they attend. I use the Gene roaster (https://www.sweetmarias.com/store/roast-coffee/drum-roasters/gene-cafe-roaster-black.html) and it does a fantastic job.

Cuisinart Grind & Brew Coffee with a thermos carafe.

I have been using it daily for over a decade and it is still plugging along.

LOL! You are much more serious about it. I roast in a hot-air popcorn popper for about $30 a popper. Each popper lasts about 10 years, so I don't have much invested...

We use a Mr. Coffee drip style and use bottled water (our tap water is very rusty). Always add at least 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon to the pot -— help lower glucose and adds a flavor kick to the Seattle’s Best coffee we use.

Instant coffee. And don’t look at me like that!

Instant coffee BUMP.

Plus, I don't like scalding hot coffee. With instant I can use the microwave to control the water temp.

Faster than brewing. Also, no carafe to clean, just the coffee cup.

If you want your coffee to taste GREAT, be sure to start with the water. We use Big Berkey Light water filter at our home for our coffee water.

Some sort of Cuisinart 14 cup thing. Works well and not broken down in the few years we have had it. Brews efficiently, important as we use expensive Kona coffee.

Had a Bunn for a good while but it frustrated us and then started leaking. Not happy with the energy it sucked either.

LOL Marine mom improvising. My tiny coffee maker is in storage. My sister makes the strongest (most gross) coffee. I fell in love with my nieces ceramic coffee press. Until I get my own I have resorted to heating up a cup of water in the nuke. Put in 1 tsp of coffee grounds. Stir and let sit 2 minutes. Put coffee filter in large glass. Filter coffee into glass. Clean left over grounds out of coffee cup. I have become adept at swirling the coffee out of the cup leaving little grounds. Pour filtered coffee from glass back into cup. Great coffee for winter is double chocolate lite roast. It’s temporary.
