I suggest doing due diligence on details, and learning the definition of murder, voluntary manslaughter, and related definitions.

That will be the question.

And based on what we know, what do you think the answer is?

You have a penchant for name calling that could be construed as an epithet when someone disagrees with you. Is that from your LE training?

In case you don’t understand, I’m referring to you continual use of “Genius” as an ending in most of your replies to anyone on this thread.

How often did you use that catchword when you carried a gun?

Right from the git go, Slager is courteous and non-confrontational, and Scott is spinning a web of lies. Slager orders him back in the car, and must sense he has pulled over more than a minor traffic violation. Is the licence he is checking fake? Then Scott runs, and fights, and appears to have taserved Slager..FU media and libtards, at worst, the cop should lose his job. But run, fight, and taser a cop, you become a public danger. Those are violent felonies in my book.

“Due diligence” should have been at the forefront of this cop’s mind instead of procedure and training. I’m not the one who shot eight times. A jury will find him guilty of murder, IMO.

"state of mind

That's what I was getting at. My feeling is Slager might have been disoriented from being tazed. My comment on shooting a fleeing suspect was in response to some other poster's comment about it never being justified to shoot a fleeing suspect. The SC's ruling was that in certain situations which you mentioned it is.

In fact, I'm saying the new evidence, if it is true, does not necessarily exonerate Slager. But if I'm Slager and I just got tazed, my mind might be a little confused at that point. I've never been tazed, and I've never been a policeman.

But my point is that we don't know the state of mind of Slager. We do know he was assaulted by Scott. And again, let's let everything shake out before we accuse Slager of first degree murder or murder of any kind.

What we do know so far looks like a case of a possibly disoriented cop shooting a suspect who had just assaulted him.

The cop isn't disoriented at all in the videos.

Let's change things up a bit. The same scenario unfolds, but in the struggle instead of grabbing the cop's taser and using it on him, Scott pulls out a knife and slashes the cop or a hammer and bashes him a good one. Tasers can be just a lethal as many other weapons. The cop is on the ground and then Scott starts running.

Maybe the rules are the cop still isn't supposed to shoot Scott. But if the same thing happened to me as happened to Slager, I'd be mighty irritated to the point of shooting Scott.

Then you would, and should, be facing criminal charges because irritating a police officer is not a justification for shooting someone. Let's remain on planet Earth. Slager is not harmed. He has not been tazed. Scott has no hammer or knife or any other weapon. He is running and is 20 or 30 feet away from Slager when Slager starts shooting him. Where is the threat to the safety of the officer or any other person?

So if that the cops story he shot scott with the taser... but that per the ny time ...

why in the video it seemm to show a taser wire to the cops leg..

and after the cop pant led high up as if to pull out a dart??.

I can see a wire tangle around his leg..

but you would not need to hike your pant leg up to untangle wire

But you do need to do that to pull out a dart

Burden of proof is not on me, genius, so go ahead with your non-evidence opinion to convict

I don’t know at what point the officer saw him run. My point is there should be a clear policy for allowing deadly force when someone is fleeing the police. That policy was not in place at the time this happened so it isn’t relevant to this incident.

You've already acquitted him so you can continue with your non-evidence opinion as well.

I don’t know at what point the officer saw him run.

The dashcam video is out there and there's the map on the blog that opened this thread. So if the police should be free to shoot fleeing suspects then should the officer have shot at him immediately, the moment he started running from the car?
