Then how do they explain my daily bouts with a runny nose? From the time I get up until at least noon...it runs like a thoroughbred on steroids.

This is easily explained! You are experiencing global cooling. You see some locations experience warming and others experience cooling..which is why it is called climate change. The theory is not sufficient developed to predict exactly where each phenomenon will occur, but they are spending a ton of money researching this and will soon reach a conclusion. An of course the cooling (and warming) is all the fault of the developed world!
Ha! I keep a half pound of peeled cloves on hand at all times. I just minced 6 cloves last night for a garlic, onion and bok choy stir fry with teriyaki sauce.
I don't think I could up my intake by much. But I love garlic...so it's worth a shot.

There might be something where you sleep that triggers your runny nose, and then it takes awhile to recover a few hours after you wake up. I might even try a different pillow and see what happens. Otherwise, elements of your diet could come into play such as garlic, turmeric, etc.. Eat more salads/leafy vegetables.

I don't know what effects your garlic consumption has on your nose, but I do know that unless your wife is consuming similar amounts... that her nose could easily cause your level of daily smooching to decrease dramatically.

It’s probably due to the fact that in Winter I sleep with a humidifier going and when I get up and start moving around the drier downstairs, it’s off to the races.
