McCain’s mean machine gearing up
Seeing Red AZ ^

Posted on 03/28/2015 10:59:27 PM PDT by ObamahatesPACoal

Amid rampant speculation of potential congressional challengers to John McCain, it looks like a long shot that any of them will step up to the task. In fact, they are peeling off faster than a cheap auto paint job in the Phoenix sun.

Schweikert‘s officially out. Gosar won‘t take on the fight. Franks has no reason to give up the seat on which he has a lock, and it will be a shocker of monumental proportions if Salmon decides to run against John McCain.

None of these Arizona congressmen are willing to subject themselves and their families to the brutality of the McCain political apparatus, that relies on opposition research —- often with manufactured results —- to decimate challengers. Having access to money to wage such internecine battles is not a problem for one who has been in D.C. since what seems like the dawn of time —- 1983. On the other hand, six six-year terms is more than Arizonans should have to endure.

Enter a strong opponent. A woman and a family physician, two-term state Sen. Kelli Ward is considering contesting McCain. Dr./Sen. Ward is impressive, which is why the long knives of McCain’s surrogates are out early.

I think the pro-amnesty editorials the Congressmen ran may have been a problem anyway.

I don’t live in AZ...so I don’t really have a dog in this hunt.

But I do have to wonder....he is getting way, way too old.

Maybe it’s time for some new person.

Or is he vying for Byrd’s old position?

McCain ping!

I am still peed off that Grahamnesty is still in the Senate supporting Obama’s nominees, clearly he is a Obama ally yet he won his SC primary easily.

Everyone is probably waiting on the old bastard to either die or retire. Most likely the former.

He needs to just go away.

the way people in Washington hang on to power shows just how absolutely it corrupts.

Oh yes you do. We are no longer governed out of our state houses but out of Washington.

I spent several years in Arizona and in fact that is where I was drafted for service in WWII. I have often wondered how the Arizona I knew came to stay with a guy like McCain. I realize that states and their people like heroes but for me McCain was no more of a hero than some ground grunt.

The RINO McCain-Clinton-IRS access will supply much
opposition’s personal info to use to McCain,
who not incidentally helped form ISIS
— because McCain and apparently the citizens
of Arizona enjoy promoting slavery and rape
and protecting Obama.

I’m guessing he sure isn’t getting his support from the areas of the state where the population is sparse.

Phoenix/Scottsdale, Tucson and a few others. I hear Tucson is libbed out to the max.

Open primary in AZ. If I recall, McCain was/is behind that.

Make it a closed primary and he is done!

McCain is toast, and he knows it (well, at least his handlers know it). This is his last senatorial term. He will not be returned for another term. He will either retire or lose in the primary. If, for some inexplicable reason he survives the primary and runs as the GOP candidate he will lose then.

I did not know that AZ had an open primary. You are right: If it is a closed primary McCain gets his pink slip.

It is interesting that McCain's "opposition research" apparatus did not do a THING against Obama in 2008, even with so much dirt to dig, for anybody who wanted to dig.

It reminds me of the famous Sherlock Holmes story where Sherlock remarks:

Gregory (Scotland Yard detective): “Is there any other point to which you would wish to draw my attention?”

Holmes: “To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time.”

Gregory: “The dog did nothing in the night-time.”

Holmes: “That was the curious incident.”

(The dog did not bark, because the "intruder" was the dog's owner.)

The only conclusion I can come to, is that McCain's objective was to eliminate all conservative primary challengers, and then take a dive in the general election in favor of Obama, in exchange for some undisclosed quid pro quo.

McCain attacks conservatives viciously, remember how he savaged Hayworth? He would never attack his friends across the aisle the way he goes after consservatives.
He’ll be back because the people of AZ like their Senators of the cheap labor importing type. They elected Flake knowing he would betray the citizens.
