I don’t think an airline can plan for every conceivable contingency; too costly for one thing. Maybe the flight attendant can have a firearm or taser at the ready.

Or possibly the armed flight attendant(s) can stand by while the door is firmly propped open. Presumably the pilot will only be gone a few minutes.

Better they should screen pilots and crew to eliminate NUTJOBS and Muslims! Someone determined to crash a plane is going to anticipate interference and have no problem offing the other person. Keep it simple. Psych screenings without warning and NO Muslims on crew, period. No Muslims aboard at all would be better.

I respect your experience and I’m certainly not going to place a bet against you on this one.

What do you think of this possibility:

The real co-pilot was kidnapped, killed and replaced with a muzzie stand-in. I don’t think that would be possible with flight-crew check-in procedures in the US post-9/11. But what about in Spain? Possible?
