Racial aspect aside, the only reason why people might want not to work is when they are able to survive without a job.
It is actually a situation which needs to get fixed.
No free meal for lazy bastards.
IMO, the humanities are a joke and completely and overwhelmingly subjective. I was born into a large family in the 50s and although I didn’t realize it when I was young, not only were we poor but so too were most of my neighbors. But I might add we were probably referred to as middle class at the time. I learned real young, if I wanted converse sneakers instead of keds I needed to make some money. It’s funny because on TV today, I told my son, see those guys hitting them golf balls at the driving range? When I was like 10 I’d run down balls at the driving range and get paid per ball like a penny or such. Then a paper route from 12 to 16 then many other jobs, washing dishes, cleaning construction sites etc etc.
I’m so glad when I was young we didn’t have phones to stick our heads into.
Today, I cut my own grass but I’ll tell ya if some 12 year old on my street walked over and asked to do it I’d gladly say OK
Well as one who teaches accounting from time to time, an accountant has a good career path, especially if one specializes in tax accounting.
But great careers in welding too. Including teaching and training welding.
