Scott Walker to attend private dinner with supply-siders in New York

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is scheduled to attend a private dinner Wednesday with longtime advocates of supply-side economics.

The gathering, set for the upscale “21” Club in Manhattan, is the latest effort by the potential Republican presidential contender to bolster his relationships with the GOP’s anti-tax wing. It also reflects the interest business-friendly conservatives have in his possible candidacy, in spite of the recent ascent of former Florida governor Jeb Bush.

Economists Larry Kudlow, Arthur Laffer, and Stephen Moore will host Walker, according to several people with knowledge of the event.

For decades, that trio of friends — all associated with President Ronald Reagan’s economic policies — have been high-profile proponents of using tax cuts to boost economic growth.

If you haven't listened to this Ronald Reagan speech for awhile (or never heard it) take 30 minutes and visit it again. It could be given today.

The more I hear about Scott Walker the more I think he’ll be a great president...or Ted Cruz....my top two...

When it comes to the choice between Cruz and Walker my feeling is they are both in the same ballpark (even though I think Cruz is actually the better of the two), and because they are “equal enough” the choice gets down to “who is more electable?”

Right now I think there is no clear answer. Walker clearly has an edge not only for being a governor but a governor who took on unions.

Cruz has the edge in being more articulate on conservative issues.

We’ll see...

I would like to see Walker president and Cruz senate majority leader. I wouldn’t waste his talents in the VP position.

I've read that before. I know a lot of people agree with you.

But for me, if I end up believing Cruz is more electable than Walker, I'm going to support Cruz as the nominee for president.

A few years ago I went to a reception at the 21 Club. The level of service and opulence is unmatched. Each room is meticulous.

Here's the main bar room:

There are numerous private rooms which is where I'm sure Walker will dine.

I like Cruz a lot,but Walker has been able to get things done - reduce the deficit, concealed carry, pro life, eliminate the special interest of taking money from the taxpayers and give it to the unions to support democrats (very corrupt).

Walker has walked the walk and takeen the abuse on a national scale.

I like Walker and I like Cruz. Walker would be better presidential timber, Cruz could remake the Senate. I pray that all the conservatives work together to rid us of the current policies, people entrenched, and administration.

I do not trust Walker at all. He is so cozy with GOPe (Priebus, Ryan, Rove) that he cannot be trusted. Walker is the GOPe’s anti-TEA, anti-Ted back up plan in the event Jeb Bush crashes out.

No surprise Walker goes to Wall St. to kiss rings.

And Walker is trying to do the right things for the voters and taxpayers.

He even took a voluntary pay cut as the Executive of Milwaukee County (heavily democratic) to reduce the spending and balance the budget. He submitted a balanced budget every year and the democratic board overrode his budget and spent more.
