Perhaps people should develop real genuine skills and stop waiting for after university graduation to get any kind of work on their resumes. No more being a snob about working as a stock clerk, no more snobbery about fast food, no more wasting your young years protesting as a form of passing the time. If students refused to get into debt over school, prices for school would be lowered. Trade school should be a priority, not messing around idly. Young adults should have a clear view of their futures by graduation, no more ‘finding yourself’ in university.
"All power comes through the barrel of a gun".
Perhaps some haven't learnt that axiom.
Why doesn’t a pointy-haired millionaire cartoonist buy some urban land and commence building a paradise himself? No doubt there are some fine weed-filled prospective lots in, say, Oakland where he could begin establishing his utopia starting next week.
The article reminds me of an old econ joke.
Two economists are trapped in a deep pit with sheer walls. The first economist turns to the second and says "How are we going to get out of this pit?". The second economist replies: "Assume a ladder..."
The article started out pretty good but didn’t like where it ended up.
Cue John Lennon singing “Imagine”.
And the self-driving cars would be cheap to build. Once human drivers are out of the picture you can remove all of the safety features because accidents wont happenWow. Just wow. Since when can an imperfect human design a perfect machine?? Never mind natural disasters, weather or other circumstances.
Logan’s Run.
Well, he is a cartoonist.
“This central lawn creates a natural family of folks drawn to the common area each evening for fun and recreation.”
And this “family” of folks would include the ass**** neighbor that can be found almost everyplace.
NO THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Stopped enduring reading the piece at the point he supports “assisted suicide,” ie murder.
“Speaking of end-of-life, assume doctor-assisted-suicide is legal by the time this city is built. I plan to make sure that happens in California on the next vote.”
C’mon Scott Adams, man up! Just kill yourself without worrying about the law.
“This is all a big pipe dream. “
and I have a hunch what Dilbert was smoking in that pipe...
“Comments?”
I’ve always enjoyed “Dilbert.” I never would have expected the “author” to be a Commie.
it may be /satire.. or at least it should be.
I must be getting old... I remember when Dilbert was funny.
I see that Adams resides in Pleasanton, Calif. It is the wealthiest mid-sized city in the United States.
Someones been in Charles Dodgson medicine cabinet.
And found the good stuff.
today's gimedats strike out every time...
“For example the Net zero home. It is still connected to the electric grid, and has water that is pumped to the home with electricity delivered to the water utility.”
One would also have to build the home . . . for free.
I've always been Conservative in my thinking, even Registering Republican at age 18, but I never got involved.
I had a long Career that involved a Position that pretty much was 24/7/365, so I just didn't have or make the time to contribute my Evil thoughts to the rest of Humanity.
I tell them the moment that I remember that set my Political path is when I watching TV and watched those Utilitarian looking Brick Public Housing Buildings being Imploded. I'm not saying that is the only thing that got my dander up, but it helped.
It was looked upon as Entertainment, but all I could see were Millions of Dollars in wasted Taxpayer Money ending up in a pile of Rubble because of another failed Government Policy.
It only confirmed my belief that People will not take care of something they never worked to own. It just flipped a switch in my Brain and it really pissed me off, and still does to this day.
