When Comedy Central first got started in the early 90’s they used to run Clutch Cargo episodes. They even had some kind of contest for viewers to vote on who was tougher...Clutch Cargo or Race Bannon.

I don’t remember who won.

Top Three, for me:

Dr Zinn’s Robot Spy...
The Curse of Anubis...
The Invisible Monster...

THE BEST CARTOON SERIES EVER MADE...

He posted the third one and I added the other two from my list.

Loved the spooky background music and sounds too.

My favorites when I was real small were “Land of the Lost” and “Dr. Shrinker.”

I believe the latter was a Croft SuperShow segment. Funny stuff.

When I was a kid, watching the Jet Packs in “The Invisible Monster” ... damn, I thought that was one of the COOLEST things a kid could EVER get to do...

Another good one - the old German WWI fighter ace episode - Shadow of the Condor(?) I think it was called.

And “Turu The Terrible” - with the giant Pteradactyl... there’s a scene where they’re on the river boat, and crocodiles are attacking the boat.

“Kids! Grab the Guns!!!!” and all you see are hands reaching for WInchesters...

And THERE - in a nutshell - is why it’s been removed from television... can’t have little boys thinking that they can shoot guns now, can we?

Even better for junior, see what replaced the toy gun his grand-dad used to play with?

By 18 junior will be saying he’s a woman trapped in a man’s body and Obamacare will fix that.

I agree completely, except that I don’t consider it to be a “song,” not having lyrics. But I’ve long regarded Hoyt Curtin’s JQ theme music to be the best ever.

When I was writing an article “The New Adventures of Charlie Chan” series some years back, I incorporated material on “The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan,” and was told by one of the animators that in a scene where some characters (cops or villains, I don’t remember now), the guns they were using to shoot with had to be erased and replaced by brooms because of network policy.

I once knew a woman whose job it was to edit cigarettes out of photos that were to be used in textbooks for teaching French language.

Cigarettes were ubiquitous in photos of everyday French life.

One of our local UHF TV stations used to run Charlie Chan Theater on Saturday afternoons. Old Charlie Chan films from the 30’s and 40’s.

Even back then they were under pressure from the Political Correctness Police. They would edit out one particular character who was thought to be too insultingly stereotypical by the standards of the day.

In one of these films this was the character who discovered whodunit. The station edited him out and the film ended with the mystery still unsolved.

Wasn’t Charlie Chan a more politically correct redo of Mr. Moto, a Japanese detective?
