The ubiquitous Brian Williams, truly a reporter for the ages

It’s 4:30 a.m. and I’m laughing so hard I barely can see my computer screen. Do yourself a favor and click on the Freeper link below and scroll down to view priceless, photo shopped images of Brian Williams, NBC “news” anchor, currently suspended without pay for six months for telling lies. (1) From putting his arm around the Virgin Mother in a Bethlehem stable to riding shotgun with OJ on the LA Freeway and smiling with a dream-like gaze as he listens to Dr. Martin Luther King, these images of Williams are a perfect representation of the contrivances witnessed evening after evening on the Nightly News. BTW, I heard somewhere that the guy was paid $13 MILLION/year to read someone else’s version of the news from a teleprompter for only SEVENTEEN minutes each night during a 30 minute broadcast!

Standing to the right of intrepid Marines, Williams has his right hand in his pocket, his left by his side and although not assisting the warriors, there he is on the scene, “reporting” the raising of the American flag on Iwo Jima! Standing slightly behind Abraham Lincoln in front of a Civil War tent and mic at the ready while the Founders signed the Declaration of Independence, Brian Williams was there, yes even at America’s birth. Sitting next to Churchill, legs akimbo, sitting behind Mav at a Top Gun movie set briefing, Williams was there, ready to answer—or possibly direct–Tom Cruise. “I got the need,” Mav yells, and Brian reports, “I’d finish his sentence, we were so close back then.”

But far and away, the split screen cartoon of Williams to the left, Hillary to the right, takes the proverbial cake for the dead-on depiction of the hypocrisy, the cant, the inveterate hype, hate, and hell to which our Mainstream Media...

I think that they should make a movie of Brian’s life you know have him interact with famous people he met throughout his life even some who past away. Have him hearing Mother Teresa confession, Brian at the march in Selma standing behind Doctor King, Assisting Dr. Christian Barnard by letting him use his extra heart for a transplant, shooting down a Jap zero from the deck of the Arizona right before it goes down... And in between scenes they could have him sitting on a bus bench issuing thoughtful and deep philosophical thoughts. Now wouldn’t that make a GREAT movie? ;-)

This could only happen because Brian is the best friend of Bubba Gump.

When newsies lie they are expected to do it with subtlety. As I read the FR thread Suzanne linked in this article I decided Brian Williams was likely toast. Those who bring that level of mockery and public shame on their hallowed profession cannot survive for long. Great work, FReepers!

It reminds me of #Obamainhistory after king 0 changed all of the whitehouse.gov historical biographies to include himself......well all the presidents except Ford.

But that's probably because Ford didn't need a bailout.

What do CBS’ Dan Rather and NBC’s Brian Williams have in common? Fake but accurate news reporting, that's what. It IS what these media charlatans do, America.

Questions Emerge Over Statement Brian Williams Made In Southland. (This guy is pathological..!)

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Two days after NBC announced the six-month suspension of Brian Williams, questions have emerged over at least one other statement made by Williams when he was in the Southland.

While speaking at a forum at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in 2008, an audience member asked Williams what his “wow” interview was or moment in his career.

“What was my wow … I’ve been so fortunate,” he said. “I was at the Brandenburg Gate the night the wall came down.”

What Williams was referring to was the demolition of the Berlin Wall in 1989, but there are now reports that he actually arrived the day after the wall came down.

Williams’ predecessor Tom Brokaw was the only American anchorman to report live from the scene on that historic day.

“If you lose credibility, I think you lose everything, particularly for the ‘Nightly News,’ ” said Jessica Levinson, vice president of the Los Angeles Ethics Commission.
