Because unlimited authority will be used as the excuse to limit others who want to fight terrorists. He will be able to say that he has the authority alone to act, and then will not act but will act to stop others from acting.

Obama is a despotic, little, Muslim pig who hates Jews, Israel, Christians and America. Why wouldn’t he want unlimited power over his enemies, and faux enemies, whatever it takes to force his will on the world?

Because Obama has never been a 'major league' President, rather he's only ever been a 'JV' President, and he thinks that he should be fighting against another JV team.

Exactly.

I don't see the point in the GOP in congress voting on this, or even debating it.

Obama is Commander-in-chief and already made clear that he doesn't need congressional approval. Why should the GOP take some responsibility from him in this mess when Obama will do what he wants anyway?

” Obama will do what he wants anyway? “

Why not? The GOP won’t stop him.

Why not? The GOP won’t stop him.”

Recall GWB making signing statements modifying laws sent to him and Dems griping about it.

But Pelosi was smart enough to not tolerate Dems who demanded government shutdowns or impeachment to force Bush to back off, which she knew wouldn't work.

Instead she played it smart and got Obamacare passed two years later.

Same thing with Iraq surge.

I’m trying very hard to forget the chuckle head. These days, he mostly hangs with Clinton, and once in a while, Obama.
